LUNA WHISPERS: CHAPTER 33

LYDIA POV

I woke up the next morning. Shockingly, I did not have any nightmares. Maybe today was a good day for me, I was hoping that it was. I looked at my hand and I saw that the bruise had already healed. I remembered yesterday instantly, I could still feel his mouth on my hand. How is that even possible? I shook my head and after taking a bath, I went to start my duties for the day.

I was in the process of cleaning the dining hall when Tyra walked in. I was hoping to avoid her today or forever if that was possible. But I knew avoiding her forever would be Impossible, I would see her someday even if it wasn't today.

She walked up to me and tapped me on the shoulder. I didn't turn back to talk to her until she tapped me again.
"What do you want?" I asked her.
"Why have you been avoiding me?" She asked me.
"I'm not avoiding you, I have been busy." I said. She rolled her eyes at me.
"You definitely think that I'm stupid don't you?" She said. I turned my back to her and continued working. She turned my hand and made me to face her.
"Lydia, what is wrong with you?" She asked, she looked serious.
"Nothing. I just don't want to be friends with you anymore." I said. She laughed.
"And where did this smart decision come from. Are you stupid?" She asked still laughing.
"I'm serious, I regret meeting you Tyra. I became something I wasn't because of you, I made stupid life decisions because of you. Stay away from me." I said.

"You're nothing without me Lydia, you are nothing without me." She said, angry.
"I would rather be nothing then, than to continue a friendship with someone like you. I hope you change Tyra. I really hope you do or you'll regret it." I said. I was tired of this conversation and so I decided to leave, I would come back to clean later.

"So I'm guessing your new friend is Kiran. You think you're better than me because you're friends with him now?" She said.
"What are you talking about?" I said. Disgusted by how petty and childish she was appearing to be.
"Your friend asked me questions about our friendship. I'm assuming that you didn't tell him that you ditched me without a reason." She said.
"What did you say to him?" I said.
"I just told him everything that happened that night, well, almost everything." She said. She smirked and left me in the dining hall, my thoughts roaming. What does he know?

FREYA POV

I wanted to distract myself and also do something good for Ralia and Darren. I still did not feel good about the fact that they had to shift their wedding because of our war with Kye. So I decided that they deserved an engagement party, I haven't told her about it yet but I'm sure that she would agree. I was heading to her room when I saw Lydia coming out of the dining hall. She looked distressed.

"Lydia!" I called out to her. She looked towards me and started coming over.
"Goodmorning Freya." She said smiling at me. But she still had a distressed look on her face.
"How are you?" I asked her.
"I'm fine. Thank you for asking." She said. I knew she wasn't but I didn't want to push her.
"Are you heading to Kiran's room?" I asked her.
"No, I'm not." She said.
"Are you busy right now?" I asked.
"No, not really." She said.
"Great. I need your help with something." I said smiling. I took her hand and dragged her outside with me.

"So, I'm planning an engagement party for Ralia and I need extra help to make it a success." I said. She smiled.
"That's nice of you. I would love to help." She said.
"Good. I haven't told her about it, let us go inform her now." I said excitedly. We went to Ralia's room, she looked quite surprised to see us.
"Freya, what a pleasant surprise. I didn't know you were coming today." She said with a smile. She looked at Lydia who was beside.
"Hello Lydia." She said smiling.
"Hi." Lydia said with a small smile.

"What did I do to earn a visit from our very own Luna." She said jokingly.
"Oh, come of it." I said laughing.
"I wanted to share an idea with you. I'm sure you'll like it." I said to her.
"What idea is this?" She asked.
"I'm thinking of having an engagement party for you." I said. Her eyes sparkled at the thought.
"Freya, that is a wonderful idea, you don't have to do that for me though." She said. I held her hand.
"You're my friend and I'm going to do it for you, whether you like it or not." I said to her and she laughed.
"Alright. I cannot argue with you on this. Can I?" She said.
"No, I've already won this battle." I said. Ralia looked at Lydia.
"Did she put you up to this as well?" She asked Lydia.
"I joined happily." Lydia said and we all laughed.

We spent the whole day in Ralia's room deciding what she would wear, ehat type of flowers we would use to design the pack, the food. It was fun. Ralia stepped out for a while. She wanted to inform Darren about our plans. I was left alone with Lydia, maybe this was a sign to have a conversation with her. Maybe find out a bit about what was bothering her.
"Any exciting things happen to you lately Lydia?" I asked her.
"Not much." She said.
"You and Kiran are friends now right?" I asked.
"I suppose we are." She said.
"How is that going? I hope he's nice to you, he's a nice person so I suppose he is. He also loves with his whole heart." I said. I saw her smile a bit.
"He does." She said. I moved closer to her.

"Lydia, Kiran is worried about you and after what he told me. I'm worried as well. Is there something you would like to share? Something that's bothering you?" I asked her. She looked at me, then she hesitated.
"Nothing Freya. I'm fine." She said and smiled.
"I know something is bothering you and I don't want to force things or push you to say it. But whenever you're ready. I'm here and Kiran is here as well. You can talk to us." I said to her.
"Thank you Freya. I appreciate it." She said smiling with a sad look on her face. Ralia stepped inside the room.
"Did you two miss me?" She said.
"You were all that we could think about." Lydia said and we all laughed once more.

KIRAN POV

Ace informed me that today I had to introduce myself to the council, they wanted to meet me. According to him, he and Annalyse seeked permission from the council before coming to the human world.

They must be important. Ace informed me about everything that I needed to know before facing them. We went for the meeting, I stood beside Ace, I didn't know what to expect but familiar company would make me feel better, we stepped inside together. There was a large round table in the middle and people sitted around it. There was also an old man standing up at the far end of the hall. Ace took his seat at the head of the table.

"Council." He began.
"This is Kiran from the human world. The one who we went to get." He said. All their eyes turned towards me.
"You are welcome, Kiran." One of them who I assume is a council member said to me.
"You say he has the ability to help us?" Another said. Looking at me like I was beneath him. I was angry at that. He had no right to stare at people that way. Ace looked towards me and shook his head, maybe telling me to calm down and let it be.
"He does have the ability, one that even my brother fears." He said to him.
"That is good, we will need all the help we can get. Thank you for agreeing to aid us at this trying time Kiran." The man who welcomed me at the start said. I was beginning to like this man.

"You're welcome." I said to him. He nodded his head. The man who I didn't quite like scoffed. Ace looked at him, his eyes challenging.
"Do you have anything to say Maxwell?" He asked him.
"Just that we shouldn't be so nice to him yet, you never know if he's an enemy as well." Maxwell said.
"Do you lack knowledge Maxwell? I would like to assume that was a joke." Ace said.
"Do not talk to me like that Ace, you are still young. You won't see things like your elders do, even though you rank higher than all of us." Maxwell said angrily.
"Speak for yourself Maxwell. You aren't talking like an elder." The man who I already liked replied.

"If I wanted to destroy your packs, I would have done it sooner than now, don't you think?" I said to Maxwell.
"Who knows if you have others that you're working with." Maxwell said.
"I do not need backup to destroy you. I can do it all on my own, without any help." I said to him.
"Enough!" Ace said and turned to Maxwell.
"I will not allow you to talk to a guest of my pack like that. Kiran is trustworthy and I will not let you trample on his dignity Maxwell. You will not utter such again in your life. Do you understand?" Ace said. The other members of the council agreed with Ace. Maxwell had no choice but to fold.
"Yes. I understand." He said. It's good that everyone could see that he was making absolutely no sense at all.

"Now, let's move to other matters." Ace said. He gestured for me to sit down and I did. Maxwell was still looking salty. I could care less.
"Do you have anymore news about Kye yet Ace?" One of the members who hasn't said a word since I arrived here finally spoke up.
"My brother hasn't done anything yet, but I still don't underestimate him. We are still training for any circumstances that may come to us." He said.
"The packs that are still left standing will aid you with it's warriors. The sun pack is still recovering, they may not be able to give warriors but they can provide healers in case anyone suffers a detrimental injury during battle." One of the council members said. Ace nodded in appreciation.

"He knows about Kiran now and knowing my brother. He would be looking for ways to take him down." Ace said.
"I do not think he will have any luck with that." I said.
"The worst thing anyone can do is underestimate Kye, he will search all the books in the world and every corner for ways to defeat you." Ace said.
"I will be ready for him." I said. Ace nodded his head.
"I have no doubt that you will be." Ace said.

"Do any of you have anymore matters that you would like to address?" Ace asked. None of the council members talked.
"Then this meeting shall now be adjourned. I will inform you if there are anymore changes that have occurred at anytime." He said and then he left the room, I followed him as he left as well, we were walking towards the pack when he stopped me. He put his hand on my shoulder.

"Do not listen to Maxwell, he has the brain of a new born baby." Ace said.
"Are you allowed to say that?" I asked him, my face laced with amusement.
"No, but it's the truth. I have no idea how he's in the council." Ace said.
"Can't you just remove him?" I asked.
"Things don't work that way, he has to commit a henious crime first and he still has not done that yet." Ace said and I nodded.

"We have not talked much since you arrived to the pack. Well, not personally at least." Ace said.
"We are correcting that now, are we not?" I said and he nodded.
"I thought you hated me, our first meeting wasn't that pleasant" Ace said.
"I do not hate you Ace. I was just worried about Annalyse at that moment and blaming you seemed like a logical option then. It was just the heat of the moment, now I have calmed down I have seen reason." I said.

"I love Freya with my whole heart, I would never want danger to come to her." He said.
"I see that, You are hopelessly in love with my friend and I've seen it everyday since I've come here. You are the best man suited for her Ace, and she is happy with you as well." I said and smiled at him.

"I'm glad that you see things that way. I'm hoping we can be friends from now on." He said to me.
"Of course we can. I need a lot of those right now." I said to him.
"If you have anything you want to discuss with me about, you can always do that." Ace said. My mind went to Lydia and I looked at Ace.

"How do you show someone that you care about them and want the best for them even when they don't believe so?" I asked Ace.
"Does this person not trust your intentions towards them?" He asked.
"I didn't mention that it was someone I knew." I said
"But it is someone you know right?" Ace asked. I sighed.
"Yes it is." I said
"She is going through something that she does not want to tell me about. I know she hasn't known me for long but I honestly do care for her. And I'm worried about her." I said.

"Just keep being there for her. Keep showing your care towards her, some things are just hard to talk about sometimes, maybe this secret she's keeping is something really deep and it will take a lot of courage for her to speak up about it. One day she will talk, patience Kiran." He said.
"You're right. I shouldn't rush it." I said and he nodded.
"Thank you, Ace." I said.
"It's no problem. I'm sure Lydia will come around." He said.

"How did you know it was her?" I asked.
"I'm not stupid Kiran." He said and smiled.
We both gave each other a pat on the back and continued our journey in silence.

I arrived at my room to take a rest, today was a very long day and all I wanted was sleep. I went to have a bath and after I was done I came out, I laid down on the bed when I heard a knock on my door. I stood up to answer it and I saw Lydia at the other side of the door.
"Lydia?" I said. She entered inside my room and stood with her hands crossed on her chest.
"Why did you talk to Tyra?" She asked. I closed my eyes. She told her. Of course she told her.
"I just wanted to find out some things from her. I wanted to know why you two weren't talking." I said.
"Is it any of your business." She said.
"You're my friend and I care about you, so I'm making it my business." I said. She laughed dryly.

"You have no right." She said.
"To what? To talk to Tyra. I think I have every right to talk to someone if I wanted to." I said.
"You shouldn't have talked to her, Kiran. You shouldn't have gone to her at all." She said.
"I just wanted to find out more about what is going on with you Lydia. It's obvious that you're not fine." I said. She held her hair.
"Nothing is wrong with me!" She screamed.
"Why don't you just leave me alone!" She screamed at me again.
"I cannot do that." I said and she sat down on the chair crying and I could tell it wasn't about our conversation anymore. She seemed tired and frustrated.
"Just leave me alone Kiran. You don't want to be messed up too." She said, silently sobbing. I sat down beside her and held her in my arms.
"I won't leave you alone, I'm here for you." I said stroking her back.
"I just want it to be over." She whispered.
"Want what to be over?" I asked.
"That night. I want it to stop." She said and after that she went silent.
She didn't say a word anymore.
I held her, until she fell asleep.
