LUNA WHISPERS: CHAPTER 32

LYDIA POV

She walked towards me, my name still on her lips. Kiran had to leave and now. I turned to him and responded to his question so he could leave as quickly as possible.
"Yes, we can be friends, you can leave now." I said and he rose one of his eyebrows.
"Is that how you treat a friend?" He asked with amusement on his face.
"And I think someone is calling you as well. She looks like she's headed this way." He said and I felt her hand on my shoulder.

"My goodness is anything wrong with your ears, I've been calling you, didn't you hear me." Tyra said.
"No, I didn't." I responded dryly. Kiran watched the exchange between us but didn't say anything. I appreciated that he didn't Interfere.
"What's wrong with you Lydia? You're not fun anymore. Ever since that day we snuck out for... " she said but I cut her off.
"I'm fine. I'm busy right now Tyra." I said pointing to Kiran, before she could say anything more, I said to him.
"I will arrange your room now, like you asked me to." I said looking at him. Pleading with my eyes that he just says yes and gets me away from this conversation. Luckily he did.
"Of course, do it fast. I want to rest now." He said and I ran out not sparing Tyra a glance. I felt him behind me, I'm sure he had questions about my lies.

"Lydia, wait. You run so fast." He said. I reduced my pace so he could catch up with me.
"Thank you for going along with it." I said to him.
"Why did you lie?" He asked.
"I just didn't want to talk to her." I said to him.
"There must be a reason why." He said.
"We just became friends and now you're asking me personal questions?" I asked him.
"It's just because I care Lydia. Why can't you just accept the fact that I care. You can be so hot and cold. One time I think I'm making progress with you and then you shut me out the next minute." He said.
"I didn't ask you to care about me, It will do you good if you stay away from me Kiran. For your own good. Stay away from me." I said walking away.

"I won't" I heard him say.
"What?" I turned to him.
"That's what you want and I won't give it to you. It will take more than that to push me away." He said.
"You can't get rid of me that easily. We're friends now right?" He said smiling and then he walked away. I sighed and started walking towards my room. Tyra would be out of sight by now. I laid down on my bed, going back to my nightmares.

KIRAN POV

It was afternoon and I was meditating in the garden, but no matter how serene the environment was. I still lost focus because of a certain girl with grey eyes and midnight hair. I tried conjouring a fire ball but it ended up disintegrating, it burnt me a little in the process. An insignificant sting really. I sighed and a deep frown emerged on my face.

I've never lost focus before and now a woman is making me do so. But she's not just any woman is she Kiran? I put my hands on my face and a felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned around and Annalyse smiling at me.
"You seem distressed. What is the problem?" She asked
"I just have a hard time concentrating today." I said to her.
"Is there a reason why? Is something bothering you?" She asked.
"Yes... I mean no. It shouldn't even be bothering me." I said.
"What is the problem Kiran?" She asked leading me to the garden chairs, I sat beside her. I sighed before speaking to her.

"I'm worried about Lydia." I said to her.
"Was she crying again?" She asked.
"No, but I can sense something is deeply troubling her and hiding it won't help her anymore." I said.
"But she won't tell you yet right? You shouldn't invade her privacy." She said.
"I'm not going to do that. It's the last I'll ever do. I'm just going to ask someone a few questions." I said.
"Who?" She asked.
"Someone I think can give me a clue about what is wrong with her. I'll figure out the rest myself. I do not think I can rest If I don't know Annalyse.
"Do you have feelings for her? Is that the reason you care so much?" She asked.
"No, I just care for her like a friend would." I said. Why did I struggle to believe that statement, that is all it is right?
"It's good she has a friend like you watching over her." She said, then she held my hand.
"Just don't put her under any pressure." She said to me.
"I won't." I smiled at her and I left.

I knew exactly who to ask the questions that I needed answers to and that was Tyra. The way Lydia acted when she saw her was suspicious and it looked like Tyra was about to say something before Lydia stopped her. She knows something and I'm going to find out what it is. I heard the door to my bedroom open and Tyra walked in. She had a huge smile on her face. I wonder why? It was was getting scary. I would prefer if she would stop, but it would be harsh telling her that to her face.

"You asked for me?" She said, fluttering her eyelashes at me.
"Yes, I did. Please sit." She wanted to sit down next to me. I stopped her instantly.
"On the chair." I said pointing towards the chair opposite me. She had a small frown on her face before she finally sat down.

"I called you here because I would like to ask you something." I said to her. She leaned in.
"Anything you want, you can ask me." She whispered seductively.
"Are you and Lydia friends?" I asked, she leaned back instantly, no trace of seduction anymore.
"We were friends until she started avoiding me." She said. I wonder why? I thought, Sacarsm dripping on my mind.
"What caused you to stop being friends" I said. She looked at me.
"Why do you want to know so much?" She asked.
"It's important for me. I won't force you to say anything but I really need you to." I said. She looked at me onec more and sighed.
"We stopped talking the day after we snuck out one night. She was acting weird for some reason." She said.
"Snuck out?" I repeated.

"Lydia isn't some sort of Angel, you know that right? Or maybe things have changed, she wasn't so boring until now." Tyra said.
"Where did you two sneak out to?" I asked
"Oh, just a party, there were rumours that some members of the other packs were having one deep in the forest, we wanted to see if it was true so we snuck out. Lydia was hesitant at first but she came around. We were having fun, until she said she wanted to pee and I didn't see her again. The next time I saw her, she was different." She said.

Something must have happened when she went to pee. Something bad. I thought. I looked at Tyra.
"Thank you for your time Tyra. You can leave now." I said to her. She stood up, less than happy that this was why she was invited here but I didn't care. She left the room and I was alone with my thoughts again.
"What happened to you that night Lydia. I hope it is not what I'm thinking." I said. Because that would be awful and utterly messed up.

LYDIA POV

I was washing clothes outside, lost in my thoughts. It was filled with a golden eyed man who would not leave me alone. This was the last thing I needed to happen to me, someone barging into my life like this. Destroying all my plans to just be on my own. To dwell on my suffering by myself, I didn't need anyone else in the equation but this man was not going to leave me alone and I didn't know why. Maybe if I hadn't cried that day. This is my fault.

I looked up from my washing and I saw him engaging in a sword fight with one of the Pack warriors, for someone who has been Isolated for so long, he knew his way with a sword. I couldn't take my eyes off him, why was he always shirtless? I thought. My eyes took me to the scars on his back. They were like a design. Like they were drawn on him.

When I heard a scream, I came out of my thoughts and I saw him, kneeling on the floor. His hand was bleeding. I left the clothes and ran towards the fighting grounds and knelt down beside him.
"Are you okay?" I asked him, worried. I looked at the pack warrior.
"What were you thinking bruising him. Did your mind suddenly forget that he is a human and he cannot heal like us." I said.
"I'm sorry." The boy said.
"He's new, he just enlisted today. Don't be hard on him, it was a mistake." Kiran said.
"You can go now, we'll continue tomorrow. Good striking blow, just save the bruising for when the real fight comes to us." Kiran said and the boy went on his way.

"Come with me, let me take a look at your wounds." I said him.
"You don't have to." He said.
"Do not argue." I said and he smiled.
"Look who's talking." He said.
"Just come with me." I said to him. I took him to his room and I sat him down on his bed.

"Wait for me here. Let me go get some warm water and a clothe from the kitchen." I said.
"I'm not going anywhere." He said. I went to the kitchen and got the warm water, I headed back to his to room and he was still sitting down. I sat down next to him.
"I could give you some of my blood, it could help you heal faster but not as fast as a higher breed werewolfs would." I said
"You people are ranked." He said.
"I thought you would know that by now. The Omega are the least in the food chain." I said.
"But does that not mean that you'll heal slower." He said. He was smart. Not that I expected anything less.

"Yes, but by tomorrow it would be gone. Let me give you my blood I'll be perfectly fine. You need it more now." I said to him. He hesitated.
I reached out for his hand and for some reason I trusted that he wouldn't hurt me, he wouldn't hurt me like those men.
"Let me Kiran." I whispered to him. He looked into my eyes and nodded. I brought out my fangs and I bit my self, my blood was dripping on the floor. I immediately brought it to his mouth.
"Go ahead." I said to him. He put his mouth on my hand, looking at me. It felt really sensual. Maybe it was because of his tounge and the way he was twirling it. It felt like he didn't want it to feel bad for me. Like he wanted it to give me some sort of pleasure. I sighed and closed my eyes and after a brief second. He pulled away.

"Thank you." He said to me. His bruise was starting to heal.
"You're welcome." I said. A bit disoriented from the moment that just passed. Did I just imagine that?
"Are you okay?" He asked.
Yes, I am. I should go, I still haven't finished some errands." I said.
"You want to keep washing with that bruise." He said. I looked at him surprised.
"How did you know I was washing?" I said.
"Maybe I was distracted by you momentarily that I forgot that I was fighting." He said.
"Why would..." I said before I was cut off by the door opening. Freya stepped inside, she looked between the two of us but she didn't say anything.
"I should go now. Rest well." I said and then I ran out of there.

FREYA POV

Lydia left a few seconds after I came in. Kiran was still looking at the door.
"Are you okay now, I heard about your bruise." I said looking at his hand. It was healing already.
"Did she give you her blood?" I asked him.
"Yes, she did." He responded.
"That was nice of her. Did I interrupt something?" I asked him.

"No, of course not. You did not." He said.
"Okay, I came to check up on you and I would be lying if I said I did not have selfish intentions as well. Would you join me for dinner. Ace is at a council meeting and I do not want to eat alone." I said to him.
"Of course I'll join you." He said and I smiled.
"Let us go then." I said to him and he followed me out of the room.

After dinner, Kiran went back to his room and I went to bed, Ace was not back yet. I stayed close to the window and I drank some water. A tear drop fell from my eyes when I remembered what happened this morning. I wasn't affected by what Ralia said about children when I was in her room some days ago. But what happened this morning brought my mind back to it and now it's affecting me.

EARLIER IN THE MORNING

I haven't been feeling quite well for a while now so I decided to stay in bed for majority of the time. Ace stayed with me for a while, even though he had other duties to attend to, he said he would not leave my side. I had the worst headache and I couldn't bear it anymore. I called for Neveah and she came into the room to attend to me.
"What is the problem Neveah?" I asked. She touched my stomach.
"What is it?" I asked.
"Have you seen your monthly cycle?" She asked
"It's been late." Neveah smiled at me and Ace held my hand.
"Don't Neveah, don't give me hope." I said to her.
"But what if it's what we're thinking, my love." Ace said.
"I don't want my hopes to rise, only for it to be dashed Ace." I said
"You're not having any other pregnancy symptoms but if you don't see your cycle today or tomorrow Then you may consider the possibility Freya." She said and then she left.

That afternoon, I was happy not to hope because there it was bright red on the sheets, staring at me. Ace stood behind me. He wanted to touch my shoulder but I moved his hands away.
"I'll change the sheets. You should go, you have things to attend to. I'm feeling much better." I said. He knew I just wanted to be alone and then he left. I started to cry because it still hurt, it still hurt a lot.

PRESENT

I kept looking out the window and crying when I heard the door open. It was Ace. He came towards me and I hastily dried my tears.
"How was the meeting?" I asked smiling. He sighed and sat down next to me.
"I can see that you've been crying Freya. Don't you think I would know you by now." He said and I frowned.
"I know it's silly." I said and he stopped me from talking.
"It is not silly, do not say that. Your feelings are justified." He said.
"Let us not give up hope my love. A baby will come." He said.
"I'm not giving up hope. I just felt bad that I wasn't proven wrong this morning, I wanted so badly to be proven wrong but I wasn't." I said.
"I know, but we cannot change anything. We can only look towards the future." He said.

"You're right." I said standing up to sit on his lap.
"Thank you for always being supportive my love." I said stroking his hair.
"And if we want that baby to come sooner, we should probably work vigorously towards it. Don't you think?" He said kissing my neck and making me giggle.
"You're quite right? But I am on my cycle so that will have to wait. How about a bath instead?" I said and smiled.
"Join me." He said and smiled at me.
"Gladly." I told him and I kissed him.
