LUNA WHISPERS: CHAPTER 9

 

FREYA POV

MATURE SCENE AHEAD

The next day was busy. Today was the full moon hunt and everyone was preparing for it. The Pack maids were all cleaning the sheds, the pack warriors were preparing themselves to hunt and among them was Ace. He and Devon would be leading the hunt today. As the Alpha it was his responsibility. 

Before we were married, I would usually watch him train when cleaning the shed with the other maids, it was improper of me because he was with Ralia and I felt foolish doing that. But now we're together and nothing was stopping me from looking at him all I wanted. I walked towards the window and there he was, shirtless and handsome as ever. As if on instinct he looked up and he saw me staring at him. He smirked a little and I smiled back leaving the window and sitting down on the bed once more.

It was days like these that I felt disheartened, because I couldn't shift into a werewolf, I would usually spend my time with the children while we heard sounds of roaring on the outside. I always wondered what it would feel like to finally shift into one. Well, I would find out soon enough when I start my training with Yuri. I wonder what we were going to start with. As I was still gathering my thoughts Darren stepped inside.

"Mistress, Yuri is waiting for you, your training will go on in a secluded area near the forest because of the full moon, it will be dangerous in the forest tonight and the Alpha wouldn't want you to encounter the hunt." He said

"You can address me as Freya, Darren. It wasn't long ago when I was still serving here" I said smiling.

"That wouldn't be proper, you're above me in rank now." He said.

"Then I order you to address me as Freya" I said to him. He smiled a bit.

"Okay, Freya. I will accompany you today. The Alpha wanted me to be there, to watch over you. He wants to be extra careful because of the rogues." he stated.

"Of course, let me get ready, pls would you mind calling Isabelle on your way out?" I asked.

"Not at all", and with that he left.

Before leaving for my training with Yuri, I thought it best to go see my mother. Now that my heart was calm, I could face her again. I couldn't stay mad at her. No matter what, she was still my mother. She took care of me like I was hers. I went to her room and I saw her. Her eyes were swollen from tears, like she had been crying all night. She looked up at me and stood up immediately but she didn't come closer. I walked towards her and I gave her a hug. Mother hugged me back and she cried once more, apologizing over and over again. I led her to the bed and we both sat down. I dried her tears with my hands. 

"I forgive you mother" I said

"Oh my dear, nothing makes me happier" she said. "I love you Freya, so much, I never meant to hurt you in any way" she cried.

"I know mother, pls stop crying. You know I don't like it when you cry." I whispered to her.

"I know." she said smiling. 

"I've thought about it and I can't really fault you. Let's just promise each other that there won't be any secrets between us. Please." I said.

"Of course sweetheart" she replied and we both hugged once more. I told mother of my plans to get revenge for what Kye had done. She supported me and she blessed me. After a while talking to her I left to go find Ace, I wanted to see him first before the training. I do not know when I'd see him again because of the hunt. When I arrived at the fighting ground with Isabelle I saw him in one of the sheds. He was talking with Devon. I announced my presence by clearing my throat a bit. They both turned to look at me and Ace smiled when he saw me. His eyes lighting up. 

"I hope I'm not interrupting much, I wanted to see my husband before you left for the hunt" I said.

"It's not problem, I'll excuse you two." Devon smiled and left us. Isabelle went along with him as well. I was left alone with Ace, I walked towards him and hugged his waist. Kissing him tenderly.

"I didn't want to leave without seeing you first. You'll be gone for a long time and I wanted to spend time with you for a while." I whispered.

"Even if you didn't come, I would have found you myself." He said, tracing his fingers down my cheek to my chin and further down my throat.

"Be careful today." I said

"I will, I can protect myself don't worry. I also put extra protection in the pack. Some of the men won't be going on the hunt, we suspect that Kye might choose to strike now." He stated.

"Ace, I know you're capable of looking after yourself but please promise me you'll go with someone when hunting, I don't want you alone. We have to think of other possibilities. We don't want Kye getting the better of us." I said. Ace looked like he was deliberating what I said and he realized that I was right.

"I will, I promise." he said. Ace looked at me, his eyes roaming down my body, drinking it in. I knew what that look meant. It meant he wanted to be intimate. He brought me closer to him. Drinking in my scent.

"I've missed you in other ways as well." he whispered

"Shouldn't we go upstairs first" I whispered while he peppered my neck with kisses.

"I think here is perfect." He said lifting me and placing me on top of the table next to the window. 

"But what if someone hears us?" I ask

"Then you'll just have to be quiet, can you do that for me my love?" he said tracing my lips with his fingers. I nodded and he kissed me once more. His hands roaming down my body. I came closer and kissed him starting from his neck, down to his chest and then his stomach.

"Freya" he groaned. Ace lifted my chin up and kissed me hungrily with ferocity. Like I was air to him, like it was the only thing he needed to survive. He lifted my dress up. When we joined together, it wasn't as painful as the first. This time it was perfect, it was beautiful. We moved together rhythmically, our breaths coming out harder and harder while we looked in each others eyes, the look of ecstacy on our faces.

I moaned out loud and Ace quickly covered my mouth with his hand, a smile on his face and a look of amusement. I know I promised to be quiet but it was too much, the feelings he was giving to me. After a moment we both let go, breathing hard and heavily. He buried his face in my neck, scooping me into his arms and kissing me tenderly.

"That was amazing." He said. He turned to look at me, kissing my already sweaty forehead.

"Did you like it?" He asked.

"It was simply wonderful." I said with a tired smile on my face. Ace kissed me once more before letting me go. We both fixed our clothes before heading outside. 

"Let's go Isabelle." I said to her still looking flustered. I saw the look of amusement on her face.

"Of course" she said. When we got out of earshot. Isabelle turned to speak to me.

"It looks like you thoroughly enjoyed yourself." She said. I turned to her, my face red as a tomato

"Was I that loud?" I asked, a look of embarrassment on my face.

"A little" she said giggling a bit.

"Oh my." I said with my hands on my mouth. We both laughed walking away to go see Yuri and Darren.

We arrived at the forest at the secluded area a bit far from the place the hunt was to take place and also not too close to the pack. Yuri gave me some training clothes to wear and Darren stayed at a bit of a distance watching the both of us. Isabelle stayed back.

"We will now begin, while we are training you're merely my student and I won't go easy on you Freya." He said

"I do not expect you too." I reply. He smiled and bit and responded.

"Good." 

"Fighting isn't something you should rush into. You don't enter into a fight in a rash manner. You have to read your opponent, find their weakness so it will be easier for you to fight them. Your enemies weakness can be your greatest strength. Always remember that." He said.

"I understand" I replied 

"We're going to start with your stance" he said. "You have to learn how to fight with your hands, before you choose a weapon, suitable for you. Learning how to shift will be the last of it." he said. 

"All of these before I learn how to shift? Can't we begin with that first. We don't have much time." I said clearly impatient.

"Patience is a virtue Freya, If you don't take things step by step. You will not win." he replied. 

"Now, Stand with your feet, your hips should be apart from each other and your dominant foot slightly forward. Hold your hands in front of your body, bend your elbows, and face your fist towards me." He instructed. 

"Now try to hit me." He said. I hit him once but he didn't budge.

"Harder, you can do better than that or are you that weak that you can't throw a simple punch" He said. I hit him the second time anger growing inside of me. This time a bit harder than before, he stumbled back a little bit.

"That was better. Now fight me" he said. I looked at him eyes wide."

"You heard me." he said. I leaped towards him to hit him, but he caught my hand, flipping me over, I hit the ground with a loud thud and a groan. Darren wanted to come to my aid but I stopped him.

"No, stay. I'm okay." I said standing with a groan. Yuri looked at me and said.

"Too hasty, remember what I told you." He said. Your enemies weakness is your greatest strength. I had to find his weakness. I thought.

"Are you ready?" He said. I nodded signifying that I was.

"Now, try again" he said. We fought again and two more times I let him beat me on purpose. Until I discovered his weakness. Yuri relied on his right side a bit too much, leaving the left side of his abdomen open and anyone who looked close enough would be able to strike him down. 

"Come on, Freya." He yelled. I stood up again and I ran towards him, I hit on the left side of his abdomen with my knee and I easily flipped him over landing on the ground next to him and breathing heavily. Yuri turned to look at me and smiled.

"Good, that was impressive, you still have a long way to go. Take a break for now." He said. He stood up and pulled me up with him. Darren handed us water and we drank from it. We sat down under a tree for an hour before we resumed training once more.

ACE POV

It was almost midnight, the full moon would soon appear. We were already deep into the forest. Devon and I at the front. I remembered Freya, our escapades In the shed and the promise I made to her to come back safely. 

I was at peace knowing that she was far away from the hunt as possible and also knowing that Yuri and Darren were with her. Devon was going to be accompanying me. I promised Freya that I would take someone with me and I was not about to break that promise. We separated and went to the various places which we were stationed to hunt. 

Soon enough the full moon came and the hunt began. In the hunt we look for animals to kill. By hunting for animals we get food to eat, food that would be enough for us in the coming months. The hunt happens whenever the full moon appears. 

Devon and I were in our werewolf forms already hunting. When we find an animal we put it on a tree that we've marked. We may be able to control our shifting but we still have to stay away from the pack to be careful not to harm anyone. 

Even though we retain control, a small part of ourselves still tend to be a little violent. So we wait for the full moon to end before returning with the meat we've managed to find. As we were hunting. I could hear sounds coming from behind me. As werewolves we have very sharp hearing. I turned growling but I didn't see anyone. Until I heard a loud growl from behind me, several werewolves surrounded me. I knew that they were rogues. 

I was outnumbered that was until Devon leaped on one of them. One of them with a huge gash on their face came after me relentless. We both fought scratching each other. This wolf was unnaturally strong. Stronger than I was. The other rogues had scampered away. Devon ran towards me and the other wolf. But it was too late. He had wounded my abdomen deeply. I let out a loud growl of pain. Devon leaped on the wolf scratching and brusing his back. 

The wolf ran away he probably didn't want to risk fighting in his injured state. I turned back to my human form, blood streaming down my abdomen. Devon placed me near the tree and let out a howl. Other pack werewolves gathered all turning back. Along with Devon.

"The Alpha has been injured, we have to return to the pack. Half of you, pick up all the meat you managed to hunt. The other half, follow me to the pack." He said but his voice was getting fainter. I manged to let out one more sentence before I collapsed.

"Freya…Find my wife." I said before my eyes closed.

FREYA POV

    It was already morning, Yuri and Darren decided to hide themselves away from me. Even though they had some control of themselves they didn't want to risk it. They came out looking a bit disheveled. I wonder how the hunt went. I wanted to see Ace as soon as possible to make sure that he was okay. 

"We can go now." Yuri said to me. He helped me to stand up and I cleaned my clothes. As we were about to go. The leaves in front of us started to move. Yuri stood in front of me and said.

"Show yourself, whoever you are." He held out his sword protectively. As the leaves cleared we saw one of the Pack warriors. He fell down looking a bit tired.

"Thank goodness I found you. No one knew where you were but the Alpha." he said panting.

"It was for our Luna's safety, now speak, what is the problem?" Yuri ordered.

"Something bad has happened." My heart leaped as he said that. I was already fearing the worst. I came In front of him.

"What happened? Is my husband okay." I said sounding scared. The warrior looked down.

"The Alpha was badly injured during the hunt. The rogues attacked us." At hearing that my face went pale. I turned to Yuri and Darren. 

"We must leave now." I screamed. We all headed to the pack. Three of them making sure that I was protected. But all I cared about was seeing Ace and making sure that he was okay. He needed me.

We arrived at the gates and I ran towards our chambers. I opened the door and I saw Isis. Her face already covered with tears. I looked at the bed and Ace was there. He looked badly bruised and battered. I ran towards him and I held his hands. 

All I felt at that moment was anger.

Kye was going to pay for this.
