LUNA WHISPERS: CHAPTER 25

 

FREYA POV

Things have been going well between Ace and I since we had our conversation. It's been weeks now. Weeks and Kye hasn't said anything or done anything yet. I didn't want to worry about that. I'm happy and I'm glad that I took Ralia's advice. I shouldn't have let my fears almost ruin our relationship. I'm happy I faced them. The images of blood weren't that consistent anymore. The nightmares as well. Maybe I was finally rid of them or maybe not. I didnt want to think about it, especially not today. Today was a special day. It was Ace's birthday and we were planning a surprise. More like I was planning a surprise for him. I still haven't told the others yet.

I just want us to have a day where we won't think about our problems. A day where we would enjoy ourselves. The others should be arriving by now. I was excited to tell them about my plans.

"Freya." I heard a voice whisper, I turned but I didn't see anyone. The door opened and Darren and Ralia had stepped in.

"I hope we aren't late." She said looking away, a faint red coating her face.

"Oh" I said knowingly.

"You two seem to be closer these days." I said smiling.

"Yes, yes we are." Darren said and Ralia smiled at him. Isabelle and Neveah stepped in later. I only wanted those I trusted here. I didn't invite Yuri and Jacob to join us because they had important matters at hand and mother wouldn't be able to keep it a secret. The last time we planned a surprise for Micha's birthday, she told him before we could get anything started. I love her but she's awful at keeping secrets.

"I called you all here because I wanted to plan something for Ace's birthday." I said.

"That's a great idea Freya, we all could use some cheering up." Ralia said.

"After everything that's happened the past few days,  we deserve at least one day to ourselves." Darren responded.

"I also want to make it up to him and this is the perfect way to do it. So I need you all to play your roles very well." I said. They all nodded.

"Okay, Darren I'll need you to distract him for me." I said to him.

"Keep him away till sunset. Can you manage that?" I said to him.

"I suppose I can." He responded.

"Ralia, you'll help me assemble the maids so we can decorate the pack." I said to her.

"Of course." She responded.

"Neveah and Isabelle. You'll help with the food. You're both such wonderful cooks." I said.

"Now for a general mission. Everyone we must keep my mother away from all the preparations or she'll ruin the surprise." I said and they all laughed.

"Okay, let's go." I said to them. They all left and I went back to my room, I felt a cold chill on my shoulder as I stepped out of the parlour but I brushed it off. 

After a while I went to the room and I found Ace wearing his clothes. I hugged him from behind and kissed his shoulder.

"Happy birthday, my love." I said to him and he turned to me and smiled.

"Thank you." He said kissing my lips. He wrapped his hands around my waist. 

"Where are you going to?" I said pretending not to know.

"Darren invited me to go hunt with him. The way he sounded we may not be back for some time.

"Oh, alright." I said. He stared at me and smiled.

"What?" I said.

"Since I won't be back for a while. Maybe we could have a little bit of fun." He said kissing my neck and making me laugh in the process.

"Stop it." I said giggling. 

"Don't keep Darren waiting." I said giggling and touching his cheek.

"He can wait a little bit longer, can't he?" He said kissing me. I put my finger on his lips.

"It's disrespectful to keep someone waiting for long. I'm not going anywhere. We can do whatever we want once you're back." I said then I moved closer to whisper in his ear.

"All night." He groaned.

"That is a tempting offer." He said.

"Will you take it?" I said 

"To be continued." He responded, he gave me a quick kiss before stepping out. I looked out the window to make sure they were completely out of sight. Then I went to Ralia's room to meet her.

"They're gone." I told her as soon as I stepped into her chambers.

"My Goodness, you really are excited aren't you." She said.

"Very." We both laughed before stepping out. When we stepped outside. I heard it again, the voice.

"Freya." It said. I stopped and Ralia looked at me concerned.

"Are you okay?" She said. 

"Yes... yes I am." I responded

"Are you sure Freya?" She asked.

"I'm great. Let's go." I said.

Ralia and I assembled the pack maids and we started decorating everywhere. I really wanted this to be special, I was really excited about today, but after hearing those voices I was a bit scared now. I thought I was rid of them. I thought they were finally gone but now I see that I was wrong. Everywhere looked beautiful so far. I was happy when I looked at it. Ralia walked towards me and held my shoulder.

"It's beautiful, good job Freya." She said.

"It was a group effort." I said and smiled at her. 

"I'll go check on Neveah and Isabelle." I said, I walked away before Ralia could ask me any questions.

When I arrived at the kitchens, I heard it again. The voices. They just won't go away. I heard it saying.

"You thought you could escape me." She said.

"Leave me alone." I said and turned around and there she was, looking at me. She had blood from her waist below. I opened my eyes in fear and stepped away from her.

"You always mess it up, don't you?" She said 

"How many things will you ruin Freya." She said.

"Stay away from me." I said. Her face became angry. 

"It's all your fault." She said and she pushed me. I found myself back in the rogue territory.

"This isn't happening. This isn't real." I said closing my ears.

"Oh but it is, Thea." I heard Kye's voice.

"You're not here." I said 

"You're not really here." I said.

"But I am." He responded.

"I'm not afraid of you!" I screamed. I ran towards him, when I touched him, he faded away and I was back at the cottage. The one where I lived in as a human. It was night and it was foggy. Outside, there was a boy on the ground. His body was filled with marks especially his back.

Before I could approach him, I came out of the house or rather the younger version of me.

"Who are you?" She said looking at the boy. He didn't speak probably in pain.

"Come inside. Before my mama sees you out here. I'll take you to the basement." She said to him. She helped him to stand up and took him inside. I followed the boy and myself inside the house. She took him downstairs and I followed them. She laid a blanket for him and told him to lay down.

"Don't make any sound so my mama won't hear you. Do you understand?" She said. The boy nodded and she went back upstairs.

I went closer to the boy and I bent down to look at him. He looked up at me and I moved away in fright. He was probably looking at the wall. But then his eyes shifted towards me and I knew he was looking at me. I knew he was staring at me, he had golden eyes.

"Find me." He whispered. He touched my chest and I started to see different images. Screams, fire, the boundary. It was too much.

"Freya!" I heard a voice scream and my eyes opened. I was on the ground outside the garden and Ralia was looking at me concerned.

"What happened?" She said.

"I.. I don't" I said, she cut me off and helped me up. 

"Don't worry, don't say too much right now. Just go and have some rest alright?" She said.

"But the preparations." I said.

I'll take care of everything. I'll make sure it's perfect. Just go and have some rest." She said. I nodded my head and she helped me to my room.

ACE POV

Darren and I were still hunting in the forest, it was almost sunset, for some reason he was postponing our return to the pack and I didn't know why. I just wanted to return to Freya and keep our promise for tonight. A smile made it's way to my lips when I thought of her.

Things have been going well these days, she's getting better. She's been happy and seeing her that way makes me content. 

"This should be enough, can we return now, at this rate we'll be hunting animals that would last us in the pack for two years to come." I said laughing.

"Let's just get one more." Darren said. I looked at him shocked.

"Alright Darren, why are you keeping me here?" I asked. 

"To hunt with you of course." He said to me laughing but I maintained the stern look on my face.

"Okay, let me say the truth." He said.

"I actually need your advice for something but I've been struggling to tell you about it." He said to me.

"What do you want to tell me." I said.

"What do you think is the best way to tell someone that you love them, without them running off on you." He said.

"Do you want to tell Ralia that you love her?" I asked looking amused.

"I didn't say anything about Ralia." He said.

"But you want to. Don't you?" I said. He looked at me and hit me on the shoulder.

"Yes, it's her." He said sighing.

"What is the problem, it's good that you want to confess your feelings for her. It's quite brave of you." I said to him.

"What if she doesn't feel the same? What if I'm moving too fast?" He said.

"Don't worry about that Darren. I'm sure she feels exactly the same and even if she doesn't at least you would know." I said

"She is worth the risk, isn't she?" He said looking completely smitten.

"Love is always worth the risk Darren." I said to him.

"Thank you Ace. You always know what to say." He said 

"Well, you give me so much advice. It's my turn to reciprocate." I said. We both laughed.

"Now can we leave. I miss my wife too much already." I said to him. He laughed at me.

"Love sick wolf." He said.

"Look who's talking." I replied to him, we both went on our way, back to the pack.

FREYA POV

I looked at my dress. I wore Ace's favourite colour. I knew what it would do to him to see me wearing it. Ralia did a good job with the rest of the party. I'm happy she took over. I do not think I would have been In the state to do anything even if I thought otherwise. 

What did it all mean? what did the boy mean? This is the first time I've seen something like this. What did he mean that I should find him? I thought. 

"Freya." I heard Isabelle call my name. I turned to look at her.

"What is it Isabelle? Is there any problem?" I said to her.

"No, there is no problem. Someone is here to see you." She said.

"Who is that?" She moved out of the way and Isis walked in. My smile turned Into a frown immediately. I didn't want to see her. What was she doing here?

"Is there anything you need?" I asked.

"Can't I just come to see my daughters-in-law?" She asked.

"You've never considered me that at all. It's funny that you do now." I said.

"Can we talk Freya, please." She said. I sat down on the bed and she sat next to me.

"I know I haven't exactly been the best of persons to you. You probably hate me." She said.

"You're not far off." I responded

"I respect someone who isn't afraid to speak their mind." She said.

"I am sorry for my behaviour towards you. How I've treated you ever since you married my son. Freya, Ace hasn't spoken to me since…" She wanted to continue but I stopped her.

"Since you asked him to marry Ralia if I die. I'm I correct? Is my life that useless to you." I said.

"I was wrong for that and now I see the error of my ways." She said. 

"I should not have said that about you. My son, he truly loves you if he is willing to forget our relationship because of you." She said.

"Are you apologizing because you want me to talk to Ace for you or do you truly mean it?" I asked her.

"I mean it. I know it will take some time but I truly hope that you can forgive me for the things I've said." She said. She wanted to walk away when I told her.

"You can come to the party tonight. Maybe you can talk to him there." I said. She nodded and then she left. I went outside, everything looked perfect. The decorations. The food. It all looked splendid. I saw mother coming towards me, her face looking playfully angry.

"Why didn't you tell me about the surprise. I could have helped you." She said.

"You're awful at keeping surprises mother." I said to her and laughed.

"You're quite right?" She said and chuckled. I saw Ace and Darren from afar they were laughing with each other.

"Quick, everyone take your positions." We all stood waiting for them and when they came In, everyone shouted.

"Happy Birthday!" Ace looked at us, his face looked shocked. He turned to Darren.

"So this was why you didn't want to come back early." He said. 

"It's hard to say no to your wife. You should know that by now Ace." Darren said and we all laughed.

"It is indeed." He said and looked at me. I walked towards him and hugged him.

"Happy birthday." I said and he kissed me.

"Thank you for everything." He said.

"It was a team effort. Everyone helped out." I said.

"Then thank you, everyone. Can we enjoy ourselves now!" He shouted. Everyone cheered at that and then we began to eat. Isis went to Ace and hugged him.

"Happy birthday son." She said.

"Thank you mother." He said half heartedly. 

"Can we talk for a bit." She said. I looked at Ace and gave him a nod. He returned it and went away with his mother.

DARREN POV

I walked up to Ralia. I was going to tell her that I loved her. I was going to tell her about my feelings towards her. I have to take the leap of faith. No matter what the outcome may be in the end. She saw me coming and she smiled. She was talking with Yuri.

"Hello Darren." She said with that sweet voice of hers.

"Hello." I replied. I turned to Yuri.

"Do you mind if I steal your daughter for a while?" I asked.

"No, I don't. Just bring her back to me safely." He said. I took Ralia's hand and we both went somewhere more quiet.

"Is there a problem Darren." She said.

"There is none. I just wanted to talk to you about something or tell you something rather." I said.

"I'm all ears." She said. I took her hand.

"I have been gathering the courage to tell you this for a long time now and no moment ever seemed like the best or maybe it was just that I was scared and I don't know." I said and sighed.

"I'm messing this up aren't I?" I said.

"Just relax." She said and smiled at me.

" I just want to say that. I love you Ralia. I don't like you. I love you." I said

"I really love you. You don't have to say it back now. You can take your time." I said before she put her finger on my lips.

"I love you too." She said. I smiled widely.

"You love me." I said. We laughed and I kissed her with so much passion that I didn't know I had within me.
