LUNA WHISPERS: CHAPTER 23

 

ACE POV

It has been four days since we brought Neveah to the pack and since Freya's predicament has been known to me. I was sharpening my sword at the garden. I was angry. That was the most dominant feeling I had. I was angry at Kye, I wanted to kill him for what he had done but most of all I was angry at myself. That maybe somehow this was my fault. If I had forced her to stay, if I hadn't just let her go maybe she would be safe and our baby would still be alive.

I do not know how Freya must feel right now. I just wanted to hold her, to let her know that I'm here and that I would never leave her side. I would get her back tonight and reassure her.

"She is going to be fine." I heard Darren say behind me

"I'm sorry I pushed you, I was livid." I said to Darren.

"It's okay Ace. I understand you and I've had worse." He said and smiled. I touched his shoulder.

"Thank you Darren for everything." I said to him.

"Well, if I'm not here, you would be a disaster." He said amusement all over his face. We both laughed. 

Ralia walked inside a moment after, dressed in a fighting outfit.

"Are you ready for tonight. I just wanted to check on you." She said looking at Darren. Darren was looking at her as well, his eyes roaming her body. I smiled a little at that, when he saw me looking he cleared his throat and looked away.

"Nobody is ever truly ready, but I'm fine Ralia. Thank you for asking." I said as I turned to Darren.

"Darren, watch over the pack while I'm gone." He looked at me a bit shocked.

"I thought I would be coming with you." He said. 

"I need you here, you're the only one I trust right now to watch over my pack." I said. He nodded his head. 

"My father and Devon have assembled the warriors. They are outside waiting. We should be on our way now if we want to arrive by night time." Ralia said. I nodded my head.

"Goodluck. Bring her back safely." Darren said

"Have you seen me, I don't need luck." Ralia said and Darren smirked.

"You both can flirt later. Let's go." I said. Ralia blushed a bit and then we both left.

FREYA POV

I've been inside here, locked up and extra security guarding me. I heard Kye giving them orders yesterday morning. This means that Ace might come at any time. The sun has gone down and the moon has replaced it. That is all I look at in here, the sun and the moon. Nothing else.

The baby keeps hunting me, I keep having nightmares about it all the time. I close my eyes crying, because that was all I could do. I started hearing it again. The voices. The one's telling me it was my fault. That everything was my fault. The door opened and the voices stopped. Kye stepped inside with food like he usually did everyday. He dropped it at my feet and turned around to leave when I spoke up.

"How long will you lock me up in here. I'm getting bored." I said 

"Until I can trust you and right now I don't." He said. I smiled.

"Which means I'll be locked in here forever then. At least the good side of everything is that I won't see your stupid face often." I said.

"I don't care about your insults." He said. 

"Tired of me already? You haven't seen anything yet Kye." I said. He came closer to me and lifted my head up.

"You're right, I haven't seen all of you yet." He said, his eyes roaming up and down my body.

"What do you say to us exploring each other better." He said and I was filled with disgust.

"You disgusting scum." I said to him and he only laughed.

"Get some sleep Thea. The only time I'm ever touching you is with your consent which will come, soon enough." He said laughing again.

"In your dreams you disgusting pig!" I screamed at him and he left the room, while I cried once more.

I don't know how much time went but after a while I started hearing sounds from the door. And then I heard footsteps. It opened and I saw Jacob.

"Jacob, how did you get in here." I said 

"That doesn't matter for now." He said and he held my hands.

"I need you to stay strong Luna. You'll be out of here soon. I promise you." He said 

"How do you know that?" I asked him.

"The Alpha of the moon pack is coming with his warriors tonight. Your husband is coming for you." I felt a smile make its way to my face, but how did Jacob know so much?

"How do you know all about this Jacob." I said.

"Because I went there myself." He said 

"How?" I asked him.

"It was two nights ago. I knew I needed to do something to help you. Especially after Kye asked me to make weapons for him, more like ordered me." He said 

TWO NIGHTS AGO

JACOB POV

I managed to deceive the guards watching the gates that night. I told them I needed some other Important things for the weapons I was making and I wouldn't be back soon. It took some persuading but I managed to pull it off. The journey was long but I made it there. The warriors are quite protective. I saw the reason why Kye didn't want to attack yet. The defences were spectacular but they could use some more work.

The warriors saw me and took me inside with respect, like I wasn't a prisoner, unlike that of the rogue pack that treated people like scum. I told the guards that I need to see the Alpha and that the message I had should only be relayed to him. They had no choice but to call Ace. I saw him.

"Who are you and where are you from?" He asked sternly.

"My name is Jacob, I'm an ally of your wife Freya. I came all the way from the rogue territory." I said 

"Jacob. She told me all about you. Come inside." He said.

"I cannot stay for long. I only came to tell you that the best time to get her would be two nights from now. Kye would be away at night time. He's grown obsessed with defeating you. He and some guards will be getting wolfsbane to make more weapons. Know that I will fight beside you when that day comes." I said to him.

"I appreciate this Jacob. I will see you when we attack and you will come back with us and dwell here in the moon pack." He said.

"Thank you" I said and I went away.

PRESENT 

FREYA POV

"That is how it all went down." Jacob said.

"Thank you very much Jacob, I don't know how I'll ever repay you for this." I said. Jacob held my hand.

"Getting out of here safe would be a start." He said and smiled.

"Why do you care for me so much?" I asked.

"It is because you gave me hope after so many years of doubt. You made me to believe I could be more than I was now. That I could be better. That I deserve more than the life I have now. Until my very last breath, Freya I will always be loyal to you." He said and I held his shoulders.

"And I will make sure that I deserve that loyalty." I told him." 

"I must go now. Know that you'll be free tonight." He said and left. A frown replaced the smile on my face. Will I truly be free though? When my heart still torments me.

THIRD POV

The moon pack arrived close to the rogue territory by night time and they were preparing to attack them and rescue Freya. Ace and Ralia were at the front. Devon and Yuri assembled the warriors but did not join them in the battle. It was important that they remain in the moon pack.

"What is the game plan?" Ralia said.

"You will get us access inside and you will get Freya to safety. The rest of us will provide a distraction. Remember the most important thing is that our Luna is safe. That is our only mission here." Ace said and Ralia nodded.

"Goodluck" Ralia said to Ace. He only gave a nod.

Ralia got closer to the rogue territory and hid herself behind a tree. The two warriors stationed at the gates could not see her easily from there. She brought out her bow and arrow ready to shoot the both of them. She threw a stone to distract them. Once one of them turned the other way she took her shot, easily striking the two down effortlessly. 

"Spineless fools." she muttered. The rest of the pack came towards the gate. 

"Good work." Ace said to her.

"It's time everyone. Go in there and make sure you get my wife, make sure she's out safely.

The warriors stormed into the territory, some transforming into werewolves including Ace while others remained human. The rogues sounded the alarm of an attack and their guards all started to attack. Ralia managed to disarm some of them and fight them as well. She saw Jacob using some weapons on the rogue guards.

"You betray us Jacob." One of the rogue guards said and Jacob replied with.

"You betrayed my father first." He said and continued striking them down. Ralia ran upstairs to find Kye's room using the instructions that Neveah gave her.

She manged to find it. There was one rogue guard there. The others probably joined the fight.

"Well? are you ready to dance." She said to the guard. He screamed and ran after her.

"Too quick." Ralia said and in one swift motion she sliced his neck. She went to the door and opened it. Freya was near the bed post. She looked worn out, she looked awful. When she saw Ralia she let out a sigh of relief.

"I cannot believe I'm saying this but I missed your face Ralia." She said.

"We'll talk later. We need to leave now." Ralia said to her. They went downstairs and they were two guards there. 

"Stay behind me." Ralia said and Freya did because she knew she wouldn't be able to take them in a fight in the state that she was in. Ralia effortlessly fought the two guards and took Freya with her once more. They went outside and by the look of things the moon pack seemed to be holding their own.

"I'm going to transform and you're going to climb on me, do you get that." Ralia said and Freya nodded. Ralia transformed into a werewolf and Freya weakly climbed on top of her. She ran towards the gates howling and the others got the hint and started running with her. Jacob also followed as well and then they left the rogue territory together riding towards the moon pack.

FREYA POV

I woke up in the gardens. The same place where I met the sage. There he was, sitting down like the last time.

"What I'm I doing here?" I said to him.

"You are giving up Freya. I'm here to remind you not to." He said.

"You have no right to tell me that. You have no idea what I'm going through." I said 

"I do have an idea. You must remain strong Freya. You must remain strong and unafraid if you want to win. You must face all your demons." The sage said and everything started desolving and I found my eyes opening sharply.

It was morning. I squinted my eyes and saw that I was in my room. My room in the moon pack. I saw Ace lying down beside me. I smiled a bit, tears falling down my face. I was free, I was finally free. I started to sob and his eyes started to open. He sat up and looked up at me. His eyes were both sad and happy.

"Oh Freya." He said, then he hugged me as I continued to cry in his arms.

"Our baby Ace." I sobbed out loud and he cut me off.

"Shh, don't think about that now. All that matters is that you are safe. That is all that matters. That is all that will ever matter." He said and held me tighter. 

"You need more rest." He said to me. I did exactly as he said because truly I really was still tired.

RALIA POV

That morning I woke up and I wanted to stretch my legs for bit, so I took a walk or rather I should say that I took a walk to Darren's chambers. I don't even know what I'm doing here. 

His company was soothing to me. I felt safe when I was with him and when I was talking to him. I knocked on his door and he opened it. He was shirtless. Does he always sleep shirtless.

"Oh, Ralia." He said 

"Good morning. I hope I'm not bothering you?" I said.

"No, you are definitely not." He said and he opened the door wider. I entered, I saw some marks on his back, when he noticed where my eyes were, he turned his front to me.

"Shouldn't you be resting after yesterday?" He said.

"I've had enough rest. I just wanted to take a walk and I found myself here." I said awkwardly and he smirked 

"So do you want to talk to me about something?" He said.

"I'm just still worried about Freya, the state that she was in yesterday. It was disheartening. I wanted to kill Kye when I saw what he had done to her." I said.

"She'll be fine Ralia." He said

"I know that we aren't that much of friends but I want to start a friendship with her. I want us to be closer. Does that sound silly?" I asked him. I saw him smiling at me.

"It is not silly Ralia, you just have a good heart. It's one of the many things I like about you." He said and smiled at me.

"So you like me?" I said.

"Wasn't it obvious?" He said.

"Well, you're alright I guess." I said to him.

"Shut it." He said to me and we both laughed before I told him.

"I like you as well Darren." And smiled. He brought his face closer to mine and I found myself drawing nearer. Until we both heard a knock and Darren groaned. I giggled a bit.

"To be continued." He said. He opened the door and saw a pack warrior who looked awkwardly between the two of us.

"Well, what do you want?" He asked.

"The Alpha requests for you." He tells Darren and then he leaves. Darren shuts the door and turns to me.

"Well, duty calls." He said smirking.

"I've never wanted to kill Ace so much in my entire life." We both laughed and we went outside together. 

KYE POV

I returned back to the rogue territory and I saw the havoc that Ace had done to it. He managed to take Thea. I was angry. I wanted to destroy everything in my path. I started with a few rogue guards. My whole body was filled with blood when I was done with them. I'm going to make Ace pay and I'm going to take Thea back. She belongs to me and I'll make sure it stays that way. But first I have to rebuild and I have to make sure I come back from this stronger than before. 

He better wait for me because I'm going to destroy him. I assembled the remaining guards. Their numbers weren't affected much. 

"All of you should prepare yourselves, we're going to attack the other packs. We're running short on so many things. But do not worry I will return us back to glory. This is a promise." I screamed and the rogue guards screamed with me.

I'm coming for you Ace. I'm coming for you.
