LUNA WHISPERS: CHAPTER 22

FREYA POV

I sat on the floor all night crying my eyes out. Kye hasn't come back since last night. I'd rather he kill me than to keep me here like this, I knew he had feelings for me but that was all I thought it was, feelings. I didn't know he was obsessed with me. 

I can't forget the look in his eyes yesterday, the words he said to me. I was supposed to meet Ace today. I was supposed to be with him today. He will notice something is wrong when I don't show up. I heard the door opening and I stood up quickly. Kye walked in and I saw some guards outside the door. He quickly closed it. I sat on the bed and I didn't spear him a glance. There was still a bruise on my face from yesterday.

"I had to sleep in your room last night. Did you enjoy mine?" He said. He dropped a glass of water on the table. I was terribly thirsty, I just drank the water in one go and I didn’t give him an answer. The water tasted odd though but I didn't think about it.

"Can't you speak or have you suddenly gone mute?" He said.

"I'd sooner die than enjoy anything that involves you." I said glaring at him. He looked at me unfazed.

"Well, looks like I have to plan an early funeral then. Because you are going to be with me for a very long time." He said.

"You bastard." I whispered tearfully. He came close to me and sat down smelling my hair. I moved away from him abruptly.

"Go have a bathe. You stink a bit." He said.

"That's good, I can suffoacte you now." I said smiling smugly. He turned towards me and held my jaw but not too tightly.

"Do not test me, Thea." He said anger radiating from his eyes.

"My name is Freya. It was Annalyse before you killed my family. Do you remember them. Do you remember that?" I asked.

"I didn't ask them to be at the right place in the wrong time." He said blankly.

"You devil!" I screamed, shouting and spitting on him. He wiped his face and smiled.

"But I do thank them. For giving you to me, my love." He said.

"I will take care of you, Thea. You will be my Luna and we will have everything once I take it all away from Ace." He said.

"Never, I'll kill you first before you take anything away from my husband you brute!" I screamed. He just laughed.

"You can't do anything. You are mine whether you like it or not." He said. 

"I'm pregnant and the child is not even yours. Just kill me already. Because you can never have me. I may be here bodily but my heart will never belong to you." I said crying.

"You're wrong again. You think I didn't have plans for that monster inside your body." He said.

"What are you talking about?" I said fear gripping me.

"You should check what you drink better, Thea." He said. Suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my stomach. I looked at Kye my eyes wide and scared.

"It will only hurt for a while. If we're going to build a life together. We don't need any obstacles." He said.

"What have you done Kye?" I said. I tried to reach out to him but the pain was even worse than before. I fell to the floor cluching my stomach and screaming.

"What have you done to my child!" I screamed in pain.

"It will only be worse of you scream. Relax." He said. I looked down and I saw blood.

"No, no, no" I said silently.

"My baby!" I screamed and cried. The pain was too much. I couldn't breathe properly. Before I knew it I passed out from the pain. The last thing I saw was Kye looking at me.

I woke up on the bed. I opened my eyes slowly. I wanted it to be a dream. It had to be a dream. Reality came crashing down on me when I felt the pain again. It was less worse now. I looked at the floor it was clean and my clothes were different. 

I shed a tear, nothing could compare to the pain in my heart. It was like a void had been opened, I couldn't feel anything, I couldn't say anything. I just felt nothing. The sun was shining on my face, I could tell it was afternoon now. I could hear the door opening and I could tell it was him. I took the small blade on the table and hid it in my hand. I was going to kill him, if he came close to me. I was going to damage that face of his more. The door opened and he stepped inside.

"Do you feel better?" He asked. I didn't talk. I just cried silently.

"Come on, don't be like that. Talk to me." He said and started coming closer to me. He sat down next to me when he tried to touch me. I jumped on him, I brought the blade down, but before I could slash his face, he moved and It slashed his shoulders instead. He winced briefly.

"Come near me again and it will be your heart instead you monster!" I screamed. His face was livid when he turned to me. His hand landed on my face shortly after. 

"I have been lenient with you. Do not force my hand Thea." He said. I wiped the blood off my nose and looked at him.

"Lenient." I whispered.

"Lenient!" I screamed.

"You are the devil himself Kye." I said sobbing. I couldn't hold back my tears anymore. I didn't want to look weak. But at this point I was. I was tired. I just wanted it all to be over. I want it all to be over. I keep sobbing on the floor. Kye didn't say anything for a few minutes. He wanted to touch me but he withdrew his hands. He simply left the room. Banging the door on his way out.

KYE POV

I didn't want to hurt her but it was necessary. I had to kill that thing she was carrying. It can't be part of our new life. She would see reason later. The gash she left on my shoulder was already beginning to heal. I went to check on the maid. It was almost time for her to execute the task that I gave her. I went to the dungeons, she was staring at the other side of the cage that she was in.

"Let her out." I said to the guards. They dragged her out and dropped her at my feet.

"Are you ready for your task? You know exactly what to do and don't you try anything funny with me or you'll regret it." I said to her.

"Follow her and make sure that you keep an eye on her every move. Stay at a reasonable distance so my brother does not see you." I said.

"Clean yourself up." I said to her. I was about to leave when she called out to me.

"Can I see Freya? please." She said sadly.

"No." I responded to her.

"I'm begging you, please let me see Freya." She said. It might make her happy, maybe Thea's mood will change slightly.

"You have 10 minutes. Take her up and when the time elapses drag her out." I said to the guards. I watched as the guards dragged her upstairs and I wondered if I made the right decision.

THIRD POV

Neveah was taken to Kye's room where Freya was kept. She was kicked inside by the guards.

"Do not try anything funny." They warned her before shutting the door. Neveah saw Freya on the floor. She looked worn out, her eyes were red. Her body was there but it was like her soul wasn't. Like she was just a shell of herself and nothing more. She stared blankly at the wall. She came close to Freya holding her body.

"Freya." She said shaking her but Freya didn't respond, she just stared.

"Freya please talk to me." she said again. Freya looked at her and she started to cry.

"My baby is dead Neveah, Kye killed my baby." She said sobbing loudly. And crying in Neavah's arms. Neveah was shocked. She couldn't believe what Freya said. Could Kye really be so evil? She couldn't say anything, she just hugged her tightly.

"Do not worry Freya, everything is going to be okay. I promise you." She said determined. She didn't know how she was going to do it. But she was going to make sure Ace got a hint of what was really happening. The guards came inside and dragged Neveah out. Freya screamed after her but the doors were already shut and silence had filled everywhere.

ACE POV

I was getting ready to go and meet Freya today. My mind hasn't been at rest since I went to bed last night. I feel that something was wrong and seeing her would ease my mind. I stepped outside and I was ready to go when I saw Ralia and Darren again. They were laughing with each other. I have never seen Ralia laugh so much before. I walked towards them and they stopped laughing too much. They were now bearing smiles on their faces.

"I hope I'm not interrupting something?" I said 

"No, you're not." Ralia said.

"I just wanted to inform Darren that I would be leaving now. You're in charge while I'm gone as always." I said 

"Of course." He said

"Can I come with you?" Ralia said.

"Of course, you can. I'm sure Freya would love to see you." I said. 

"Let's go." I said.

"Have a nice time, my lady." Darren said looking amused.

"Thank you, Darren" She said.

"Do I not deserve a good day as well?" I asked. Darren laughed and walked away.

"Let us go." I said to Ralia both of us bearing smiles on our faces.

We arrived at the dragon fruit tree and Ralia and I stood waiting. Ralia kept stealing glances at me. I know her well enough to know that she had something on her mind. 

"Spit it out already. What do you want to ask?" I asked her.

"You know me so well, don't you?" She said smiling.

"I was engaged to you for quite a while. What did you expect." I replied and she gave me a little smile.

"So what did you want to ask?" I said

"It's about Darren." She said looking down and blushing. I smiled a little at her.

"Do you have a crush Ralia." I said wanting to tease her a bit.

"Shut up Ace, I'm too old for crushes." She said and pauses a bit before continuing.

"But I do like him. I just don't want to get hurt again and raise my hopes up and think he likes me back." She said.

"I will always be sorry about what happend Ralia." I said 

"It's not your fault. I've forgiven you a long time ago Ace." She said. I touched her shoulder.

"He likes you Ralia, trust me. Darren has just been through so much, so it's hard for him to show his feelings sometimes. Just be patient with him. He's not going to hurt you. I promise." I said.

"Thank you Ace." She said. We heard the sound of footsteps coming, but I couldn't get Freya's scent. I turned around and saw Neveah. The worry I felt came back tenfold. Where was Freya? Neveah looked different today, she was masking it really well though but I knew better. She came closer and stood in front of us.

"Hello Neveah, where is Freya?" I asked.

"She cannot come today, unfortunately." She said. 

"What happend?" I asked 

"Something happened in the territory. So she had to lay low for a while, she sent me instead.

"Why would Kye allow you to leave then?" I asked, she suddenly looked suspicious.

"Freya lied that she wanted dragon fruits. You know Kye likes her so he can't say no. That's why I was able to come. There is no information for now." She said.

"I just wanted to know how Freya was doing to be honest. Is there any other thing you want to tell me Neveah?" I asked her. She looked at me like she was I in distress. Like she wanted to say something but something was holding her back. Suddenly Neveah said.

"She's in danger." A knife from the forest flew towards Neveah's head, I brought her out of the way before it could do anything to her. We hid behind the tree.

"Ralia, watch her." I said and she nodded. I transformed into a wolf and came out from behind the tree. I saw two rogue werewolves. They transformed as well, but they were no match for me. I took one of them down and the other ran away towards the territory. I transformed back and I went to Neveah and Ralia. Neveah was already in tears. 

"You're coming with us." I said to Neveah.

"I can't leave Freya in there." She said. I couldn't as well. But I need enough information if I was going to save my wife.

"You can't go back there Neveah. And we need to strategize if we're going to save her." I said trying to control my anger. Neveah nodded her head and followed Ralia and I home.

We arrived at the pack and I saw to it that Neveah had a place to stay. Once she was settled. Darren, Ralia and I went to question her.

"Tell us what happened Neveah." Neveah looked like she struggled to talk.

"Come on Neveah, talk." I said.

"Please be strong and take heart Ace." She said. I was suddenly worried.

"Two nights ago, Freya found out she was pregnant." She said.

"Pregnant." I said. I wanted to be happy, if it were under different circumstances I would be but I need to know if my wife is safe.

"Continue." I said 

"Freya and I planned to escape today. We planned it all but someone overheard us and told Kye all about it. Kye kept her locked up In his room. He's obsessed with her Ace. His affections towards her are dangerous." She said. I was keeping myself from getting angry.

"Kye allowed me to see her for some time before I came to see you. She wasn't herself, she was like a lifeless body, like a shell. Ace, he killed the baby. He killed your child." She said. I looked up and I squeezed my eyes shut. I felt like I failed her.

"Ace, calm down." Darren said. I pushed him, my eyes taking a red colour and I screamed 

"How can you tell me to calm down!"

"She's in danger all because of me. I shouldn't have let her go. I should have tied her to the bed if I had to. All of this is my fault. We lost our baby because of me." I said and I slid to the floor sobbing, one would think I was a child. Ralia placed her hands on my shoulder.

"Snap out of it. You must be strong for her and get her back. Every minute we spend here blaming ourselves is useless. So be a leader Ace. You need to be strong right now. Do you understand." She said firmly.

I looked at her determined. 

"I do." I said.

"Good, now all we need is a plan." She said and I nodded.

FREYA POV

I was still lying down on the ground when I heard something from outside. It was Kye and he was shouting.

"How useless can all of you be. You let them take her!" He screamed.

"He was too strong, we couldn't fight him. Koi died in the process." The rogue guard said frightened.

"And you are dying next." Kye said and slit his throat. The rest of the guards looked shocked. When he looked towards his window I bent down. This means that Ace knows what's going on, he'll come for me soon. I thought with a smile. 

"Jacob." I heard Kye say. Jacob walked towards Kye. Prepare some weapons for me. I might need it sooner. My brother and I might have a reunion soon." I heard Kye say.

For once, since all the chaos, I had hope. I'm waiting, my love.
