LUNA WHISPERS: CHAPTER 20

 

FREYA POV

Kye glared at me. His hands still pinning mine tightly. How I'm I going to get out of this situation? He was drunk, extremely drunk.

"Do you not want me?" he whispered. His voice sounded rough and angry.

"Kye, you're drunk. You don't know what you're doing. Just let me go." I said.

"I know exactly what I'm doing. I just need you so much, Thea. You don't know how hard it's been watching you without having to touch you or claim you." He said, stroking my cheek with his fingers. I turned my face the other way and closed my eyes, crying.

"Why are you crying? I'm not hurting you," he said. 

"I'm just not ready Kye," I said my voice breaking slightly.

"When are you ever going to be ready? Aren't you supposed to be comfortable with me by now?" He asked. I didn't say anything to that, I just kept sobbing. I was scared now. What if he hurts me? What if he forces himself on me? I will not let that happen! I'll fight him if I have to. Kye looked at me. His face looked hurt by my silence. He sighed deeply and let my hands go before storming out of the room and banging the door.

I breathed in heavily. My body was still shaking from what occurred. I sat up and leaned my head on the wall of the bed. After a minute, I felt like vomiting. I ran to the bathroom and threw up. I stayed there for a few seconds until I started dry heaving. I cleaned my face and went back to the room. I laid down because I didn't have to strength to go back to my room. While I was on top of the bed, my eyes closed and I went to sleep.

KYE POV

I was angry. Extremely angry. All I had shown her was love and care. I gave her comfort and yet the thought of being with me still made her uncomfortable. What does she want from me? I have never been this fixated with a woman or even remotely cared this much but she has found a way to penetrate my heart and my very being. All I can think about is her!

I kicked a stray stone angrily as I headed to the garden. The men were still partying like it was their last day on earth. I was not in the mood anymore. I just wanted to be alone.

I tried sleeping with a maid after walking away from Thea. If she does not want to lay with me. There were plenty women who were willing to do so. But as I was about to do it, I couldn't anymore. Her face just flashed before me. Her mesmerising eyes and her beautiful smile. I couldn't see anything else. I was hooked. I rubbed my hands on my face. Was I in love with her? If I was then I was in big trouble. I have never been with one woman in my entire life. Even when I was with Dinah, I was promiscuous. But this girl just comes and defies all my principles. Everything I've ever known and everything I've done.

I have never believed in love but with Thea, it was different, I always felt happier around her, contented. I felt like I could share everything with her. Tonight hurt me a lot. I've been hurt before by several things but definitely not love. I had the urge to go back to her. Maybe I was a bit too forward, maybe that's what scared her away. I should go back to her. I stood up from the floor and I went back to the room. When I saw her, she was asleep. There were a few stray tears on her cheek. She stayed. Maybe that meant something. Maybe it was just too soon. I immediately felt a force of guilt hit me for making her cry. I laid down beside her and wrapped my hands around her waist. 

She turned around and opened her eyes. She still looked tired and sleepy. She looked at me with a slight frown on her face.

"I'm sorry, Kye. It's not that I don't want it. It's just that..." She wanted to keep talking but I stopped her.

"I understand. I was too forward. I promise I'll try my best to wait," I said and she smiled a bit. She leaned closer and planted a tender kiss on my lips before pulling away.

"I don't like when you're mad at me," she said. I smiled at her and leaned my forehead against hers.

"Go back to sleep," I said. She nodded her head and turned the other way while I held her in my arms. We both stayed that way until we drifted off to sleep.

ACE POV

I woke up today and immediately Darren told me about the summon by the council. I had not updated them about the information given to me by Freya. Maybe they were growing restless and needed to hear from me immediately. I did not blame them. I would want information quickly if it were me. I dressed up and was about to head for the meeting when I saw mother walking towards me. I decided to walk faster when I heard her call out to me.

"Son. Wait!" She said. I sighed and turned to her. Practically glaring at her. My last conversation with her did not warrant a smile at all. She didn't deserve a single one from me after what she did.

"What do you want mother, I'm in a hurry. I have to get to the council meeting immediately." I said.

"Is this how it's going to be between us now?" she asked.

"I do not understand what you mean, mother." I said flatly.

"I just want what's best for you and this pack son." She said.

"I know what is best for my pack mother." I responded. She looked down and sighed deeply.

"I went too far and I acknowledge that now. Please do not continue to be upset with me. You're the only one I have now, Ace." she said. I looked at her.

"You have more than me, mother. You just refuse to acknowledge that." I said before walking away and heading for the meeting.

I sat at my chair and looked at everyone around the table.

"We have been waiting for your update, Ace. What took so long?" One of the Alphas asked.

"I'm sorry to have kept you waiting. I was going to fix this meeting in a few days to come but I understand your need for information. May I proceed?" I asked.

"Please do." Another said while the rest nodded.

"My Luna has been able to gain my brother's trust and has also managed to recruit very valuable people to our side. We have a big chance if Kye manages to strike again." I said. I continued to fill them in on more information and they seemed pleased.

"This bodes well for us. Your Luna has proved to be very beneficial in this fight. I have never seen a woman take on such a task. She deserves to be celebrated." They all nodded in agreement, some looking impressed.

"She will be in due time." I said smiling.

"That is all I have for you for now." I said. 

"This is more than enough for us. We have more faith and hope than we ever did before. Thank you." One of the council members said. After the meeting I headed back to the pack.

RALIA POV

I was training on my own in the fighting grounds, it's been a while since I've done so. I also needed to clear my mind a bit. Now that I had too much in it after that uncomfortable conversation I had with Isis. Practicing just helps me relax a bit. As I was swinging my sword, I heard a voice behind me.

"Your form is a bit wobbly." The voice said. I turned around and I saw Darren watching me.

"Did I ask you?" I said 

"No, I was just trying to help my lady." He said and started walking away when I called him back.

"Wait." I said and he turned around.

"I'm sorry I sounded that way. I didn't mean to. A lot has just been weighing on me lately." I said.

"It's alright, my lady. I understand." He said smiling. His smile was beautiful. What am I saying? Why would I think that? I was snapped out of my trance by Darren.

"Do you require any other thing my lady?" He asked.

"Please call me Ralia. Enough with the my lady." I said scrunching my nose. He laughed a bit.

"Okay, Ralia." He said smoothly like my name was some sort of delicious meat.

"You've barely spoken more than two words to me before. It's good to hear you say more." I said. He just smiled.

"Do you want you train with me? You could monitor my form more if you want." I said. He looked at me with an amused smile. I realized that my choice of words may have implied a different meaning in his head.

"Not in the way you're thinking." I said wide eyed.

"What did you think were in my thoughts?" He said smiling.

"You are dirty minded." I said laughing.

"I did not say anything. How am I dirty minded?" He replied.

"Do you want to train or not?" I asked and he nodded joining me as we trained for the rest of the morning.

Later that afternoon, I and Darren were walking back to the pack from the training grounds. It was fun training with him this morning and he also served as a great conversationalist as well. 

"It was fun training with you." I said. He looked at me and smiled once more.

"It was fun training with you as well." He said.

"Maybe we could do it again another time? That is If you want to do it." I said to him looking away shyly. Why was I acting this way.

"I would love to." He said. We both stopped at my chambers when we reached there.

"Thank you for walking me back." I said 

"You're welcome." He said. He stretched his hand to my hair. I moved back on instinct.

"I think you got the wrong idea about today. I'm not going to kiss you that soon." I said 

"Ralia. That is not..." He said but I cut him off.

"You're quite handsome but we've only talked for a short period of time. I don't think..." I said and he cut me off abruptly.

"Would you just keep quiet for one minute?" He said laughing.

"Something was In your hair. I was just trying to get it." He said. He moved closer and removed a leaf, then he showed it to me.

"See?" He said still amused. I felt embarrassment seep into my pores and I quickly said.

"Good day." Then I ran inside as fast as my legs could take me. I ran to my room and pressed my face into my hands. That was so embarrassing. I could not face him after I had just done that. I went to go have a bath still thinking of how I just embarrassed myself. After I had finished bathing, I went to my window and looked outside for a while. 

I saw Ace and Darren talking together. He must have come back from the meeting. While they were talking, I noticed something. They both looked amused like they were sharing a joke. Ace looked towards my window and smiled at me. Darren turned around too and smirked at me. I smiled awkwardly and closed my window.

They were not talking about what happened earlier with me and Darren right? I tossed and turned in my bed, thinking of what they both found funny. It might be something else, Ralia. I decided to sleep for a while.

FREYA POV

I woke up a bit late today. It was afternoon already. Kye was still beside me. Yesterday was quite tiring especially after our little fight. I decided to go to my own room and bathe. Kye's bathroom still traumatized me after what happened in it the last time. I went to my room, had a bath and wore some clothes. When I came out from the bathroom I saw Neveah waiting in my room. I was shocked because I didn't know what she wanted and I didn't ask for her.

"Is there a problem Neveah?" I said and she smiled at me.

"No Freya. I just wanted to show you something. That is all." She said 

"What is it?" She said.

"It is sort of a surprise. Come with me." She said. I followed her as she led me downstairs and to the place she wanted to take me to. We passed the maids quarters and I started wondering where I was being led to. We entered a secluded part of the garden and I saw Jacob there, there were different plates containing meat and and also some fruits. There was a large bowl in the centre of the table.

"What is all this?" I said smiling.

"When you told me yesterday was a birthday, I decided that I needed to plan something for you as well." She said.

"You deserve to be celebrated as much as that brute does." She said. I turned to Jacob.

"She told me about it. You do deserve a celebration especially after having such an awful night with him. Watching him laugh and drink all day must have been depressing." He said scrunching his nose in disgust.

"Thank you so much." I said. 

"I do not know how to repay you for this." I said appreciation filling my heart.

"You're welcome Freya. Come on, sit down and dig in. You must be very hungry." She said. 

I laughed and sat down. I took a sip of what was in the bowl and I realized that it was orange juice. Neveah must have spent a lot of time squeezing it. I looked at the two of them as we all ate the meat that Neveah prepared. It was delicious. We talked and laughed all afternoon until it was getting late. I started to forget about all the problems I had just for once. I forgot about Kye and his behaviour, I forgot about all the weight on my shoulders for a day.

"Let's make a toast to Freya, never have I seen a stronger and braver woman than her." Neveah said.

"Hear, hear." Jacob responded. I laughed 

"Thank you, both of you. You don't know how much this makes me happy." I said. 

"You're welcome." Neveah said. I smiled once more. Suddenly I started to feel nauseous again. Bile rose in my throat. I ran and started vomiting. Neveah and Jacob looked at me a bit worried. Neveah went to me and started rubbing my back.

"Are you okay Freya?" She asked.

"Yes, I've just been feeling nauseous lately and I've been having headaches as well. I think I might be sick." I said 

"Come on, come sit down for a while." I was about to go with her when suddenly everywhere started spinning and then I fell to the floor. Hearing Neveah and Jacob shouting my name.

I woke up next inside my room, I saw Kye and Neveah by my side.

"Thea are you okay?" He said. "You had me really worried." He said again. 

"I'm sorry I worried you." I said still feeling a bit tired. He turned to Neveah.

"What did you say was wrong with her? He asked.

"It's a fever. She just needs to rest. I'll make her some medicine that she'll drink later. Right now she needs some space. I'll check her temperature before leaving. Can I ask you to step out for a while?" She asked Kye. He looked hesitant but he stood up.

"I'll come back later." He said and kissed my forehead head. When her left I looked at Neveah.

"Thank you Neveah. Everything must be taking a tole on me lately and that's why I'm sick. Will you be making the medicine now?" I asked but I noticed that Neveah was looking at me worriedly.

"What is wrong Neveah? Are there more problems?" I asked.

"When last did you see your flow Freya?" She asked.

"That must have been…" I started but stopped. It must have been quite long ago. Was she about to say what I think she was.

"Freya." She said.

"You're pregnant."
