LUNA WHISPERS: CHAPTER 14

 

FREYA POV

I stared into Kye's eyes as he held my chin, pain shooting through my body. He looked dangerous, the anger in his face undeniable. 

"I'm just an ordinary girl, an ordinary exile of the moon pack. I didn't betray anyone." I whispered angrily.

"Let's try that again." He said. This time dragging me up by my hair. I let out a scream.

"Tell me the truth Thea, or if that is even your name. What are you doing here?" He screamed in my face. I looked at him. My words remaining the same.

"I already told you. You just refuse to listen." I whimpered from pain.

"You're hurting me." I said tears spilling from my face.

"Why would I betray you Kye, when all you've done since I've come here was help me." I said crying more. Trying to sell the story. It's amazing what drive can do to you. The will to get something so badly. Pretence is easier when it has a driving force. Kye eyes softened a little when he looked at me. He dropped me back on the floor and pushed me towards Eren.

"Lock her up. Until she decides to talk. Don't give her food or water." He said. Not glancing at me. Eren smirked down at me and dragged me up.

"Kye listen to me, I didn't do anything! You have to believe me!" I screamed as I was being dragged away. But Kye didn't look at me. I guess deception was not on my side this time. I was dragged and locked up in a metal dungeon just outside the rogue territory. I looked up at Eren as he smirked at me.

"I can't wait till you're dead. Then we'll finally be rid of you, traitor." He spat. I sat up and hit my hand on the dungeon bars, glaring at Eren.

"I didn't do anything. Why do you hate me so much!" I screamed.

"I despise you because Kye's making stupid decisions because of you. When you came here first I didn't suspect you. But when I saw you in that fighting ring, I know something was up with you. And now because of you Kye is acting weak. I will not let you destroy everything we've worked hard for. Whether you're a traitor or not. I will make sure you're out of the picture." He said. 

"So enjoy your last days Thea." He spat.

"I am not going to confess to anything because I did not do anything wrong." I spat.

"Starvation and thirst will surely kill you then." He said laughing. As he walked away anger throbbed within me.

"This isn't over Eren. I promise you. You'll be the one behind this dungeon soon enough and I will watch as Kye drains the life out of you." I said to myself before I sat down on the floor again. Thinking of how to get out of this situation.

ACE POV

I woke up, sweat all over my body.

Freya, I sense that she's in danger. I walked out of the room looking for Darren. He saw how distraught I looked. I walked towards him.

"Darren, we have to communicate Freya. I need to know she's safe. I sense that she's in danger Darren.

"Ace, I'm sure it's okay. She hung the blue clothe yesterday she's definitely fine. Maybe you're just a bit too worried." He said

"What if what she did yesterday had some consequences. I just want to make sure she's safe." I said.

"We cannot blow her cover Ace. Freya would not like that. If in three days we don't hear from her. Then by all means we will act. All I ask is that you have some faith in your wife and your Luna. Freya is a strong woman. Trust me she's fine." He said.

"I hope you're right Darren. I rellay hope you're right."I said.

"You know what? You need a distraction. Let's train. Maybe that will get your mind off some things." He said. I manged to let out a smile and then the two of yours went to the training ground.

But my mind was still on Freya.

FREYA POV

I woke up on the floor of the dungeon, it was afternoon already. Pain still engulfing me. I was thirsty, terribly thirsty and hungry as well. I sat up, my lips dry and hair a bed's nest on head. I could taste the blood on my dry lips but my resolve was not dead yet. I haven't given up yet. I'll make sure I get out of this dungeon and Eren in it. I just have to find a way to get that done. I saw a pair of feet blocking the sun shedding some light in the dark dungeon. I looked up and I saw Kye looking down at me. He was less angry today. When I continued staring he removed his eyes not wanting to look at me.

"Are you ready to talk." He said.

"I have nothing to say because I didn't do anything." I said.

"Your loyalty must really run deep for my brother if you're this strong headed."He said

"My loyalty is not towards that monster. It is only towards myself." I said angrily. Kye turned his eyes to face me. His eye boring into my head. I looked at him. Challenging him.

"You'll regret this. I did nothing wrong. I just want to be happy. I just want to lead the life my father wanted for me. I am no traitor Kye. You know. I was starting to think that maybe you..." I said pausing and looking down. Fresh tears springing in my eyes.

"You were starting to think what?" He said

"It does not matter now. You've tagged me a traitor, it's very clear what you've thought of me from the beginning. So it does not matter what I was starting to think." I said. I stood up to look at him.

"I want to thank you Kye." I said a faint smile on my face.

"For what." He said. He looked concerned, worried even. It was working.

"For showing me how exhilarating life could be in just a few days." I said.

"If I die here. I just wanted you to know that." I said before sitting down once more and facing the wall with a faint smile on my lips.

"You can leave now because I have nothing to say to you." I said. And after, I felt him walking away.

In the middle of the night, I heard someone calling my name faintly.

"Thea" I struggled to open my eyes.

"Thea, wake up." I heard. I opened them fully and I saw Neveah. I bolted up immediately and held the bar of the dungeons.

"Neveah, you don't know how happy I am to see you."I said, my voice cracking from thirst.

"Oh, you poor dear, look how bad you look. Don't worry I brought you water and a little food." She said

"Thank you Neveah, I hope you won't get in trouble for this." I said 

"I was careful, don't worry." She said. I took the food and the water and devoured it like a hungry beast. It was like a relief to me. Neveah watched me as I ate and stayed with me till I finished. I decided that I should tell her the truth and what my mission was. She was the only one that I knew would help me.

"Neveah. I have something important to tell you." I said

"What is it dear?" She asked 

"I have a secret that I've been keeping but only for my own safety." I said 

"What secret.?" She responded. I looked at her, holding her hand through the hole outside the bar.

"I am the Luna of the moon pack. I came here on an undercover mission to get information on how to destroy Kye and his rogues." I said. Neveah looked at me, a shocked expression on her face. 

"I knew you were keeping something, but not something this big." She said.

"I feel like I can trust you Neveah, that is why Iam risking my safety to tell you this." I said

"Your secret is safe with me, Luna." She said bowing slightly. I stopped her immediately 

"Pls do not do that. Call me Freya." I said 

"Okay, Freya." She said.

"I need your help with something important but you have to be very careful. I don't want anything bad to happen to you." I said 

"Whatever it is, I will do." She said. I sighed looking at her intensely.

"I need you to plant something in Eren's room. To make him look like the traitor. I have a blue cloth in my room, I use it to inform the pack about my safety and also give them information about the rogues. I need you to plant it in Eren's room along with some notes as well. I trust you to make it look as incriminating as possible." I said 

"I know this is too much to ask of you." I said 

"Of course not. I'll get it done. I know exactly what to do." She said

"This is the first time feeding those monsters has ever helped me." She said and just like that she left.

THIRD POV

Neveah cooked the food as usual like she did every other day. She arranged them, cutting sleeping herbs in Eren's. She made sure to keep Kye's food in the front. His food is always tasted by Eren. So as usual, Eren ate the food and found nothing wrong with it. 

"Take mine to my room." He said to her. Neveah took the food as instructed and waited till he came inside. When he started eating she left. She stood nearby to wait, until she was sure he was deep asleep. 

She entered the room and planted the evidence that she had crafted. Along with the blue cloth that Freya had told her about. She left the room. Hoping that the next morning would be better and that their plans would be successful. 

That morning she went to Kye's room, she knocked before she was granted entrance.

"What do you want?" He said irritated by the maid. He was still thinking of Thea and what she said yesterday. She was haunting him. Making him doubt himself.

"I have something important to inform you about. I saw something disturbing in Eren's room last night. He threatened me to keep quiet but I'm afraid that I cannot." Neveah said timidly.

"What is it?" Kye said.

"It's better if you follow me." She said. Soon Kye stormed Eren's room with some guards. He woke up wondering what was going on and why he had slept so much.

"What did you see." Kye said

"It's just under his bed."Neveah said.

"What is going on here Kye? What is all this?" Eren said.

"Search the room." Kye ordered the guards.

"Get up from the bed Eren." Kye said angrily

"What is going on." Eren said

"I order you to get up!" Kye screamed. Eren got up and the guards searched the room. They found the blue clothes under the bed and a couple of notes with information about the rogues addressed to the moon pack.

"Kye, I don't know how that got here. I would never betray us." Eren said 

"You believe me right?" Eren said 

"It was you all this time. You informed him about the attack in the woods didn't you?" Kye said.

"I would never do that. It's that girl. I'm sure she's responsible for setting me up." Eren said. Kye smashed the bed table on the floor.

"How could she do anything when she's locked up, you traitor!" Kye screamed. 

"Stop lying, I've caught you already. I trusted you." Kye said.

"Kye, it wasn't me. I promise." Eren said.

"Lock him up and release the girl." Kye said with finality.

"Kye please. I didn't do anything!" Eren screamed.

"Kye!" He screamed as his voice faded.

"You may leave maid." Kye said to Neveah.

"Of course." Neveah replied and left. Feeling more accomplished than she ever felt in her life.

FREYA POV

"Get up girl." I heard as I opened my eyes once more. I heard the dungeon doors opening. I was dragged out by the guards and taken to a room different from mine. The guards left and I stood there looking around. This meant that Neveah succeeded with her plan. I knew she would be able to do it. But what I'm I doing here. Some maids that I didn't recognize came into the room.

"Good morning, we were asked to bathe you and dress you up. Kye would like to invite you for breakfast with him." One of them said.

"Okay, thank you." I said. The maids bathed me, being careful with my bruises. They wore me clothes as well, clothes fit for an important person and they fixed my hair. I looked quite different. But I was terribly hungry. 

The food Neveah brought wasn't nearly enough to sustain me. But the water did plenty. I came downstairs and I sat down at the dinner table. Kye wasn't here yet. So I just waited. Finally he arrived, looking at me with guilt on his face. He sat down opposite me. The maids served food. Neveah was amongst them. I smiled subtly at her and she returned it before she left. I tried eating civilly but I was too hungry, so I devoured the food. Not caring for decorum. Kye cleared his throat before speaking.

"Do you like the new clothes and your new room. I made sure it was beautiful for you." He said 

"What is this? Compensation?" I said

"It is an apology, I rarely apologize to anyone Thea." He said

"What makes me so special then?" I asked looking at him in the eyes.

"Because, for some reason, I seem to have taken a liking to you." He said 

"A simple 'I'm sorry' would have worked you know" I said 

"After everything I've put you through you deserve more than that." He said.

"Eren was the traitor all along. I still cannot believe it." He said.

"It is ofen those closest to us." I said 

"As another apology to you. You get to decide how he dies. After all he tried to pin it on you." He said. Today couldn't have gone better. I bent my head down, acting like I actually pitied him. Anyone related to Kye in anyway must be as much of a monster as he is as well.

"Since I'm to decide. Can I ask for a quick death for him. Something less painful." I said 

"His level of treason should require a painful death. You are being too kind to him." Kye said.

"He was your friend Kye. At least he should be given a less painful death."

"No friend of mine will do what he did to me. Give him a painful death Thea. One he would not forget, Even in the afterlife." He said 

"Okay. I want him beaten severely until he can't stand up and then I want him beheaded. Painful enough for you?" I said 

"Perfect." Kye replied. He stood up and came closer to me. Pushing a chair next to me.

"I'm sorry." He said 

"I forgive you." I replied back to him.

"Ever since you've stepped foot here. You've been haunting my mind. I only think of you all day." He said.

"I want you to replace Eren. I want you to be my second in command." He said. I smiled widely, Oh Kye if only you knew that you've dug your own grave.

"Are you sure?" I asked 

"I've never been more sure of anything Thea. This must be the reason you came into my life. We'll fight together." He said

"I accept." I said. Suddenly Kye brought his face closer to mine. His eyes looking hungry. Nothing disgusted me more than doing what I was about to do. But I was so close and this would seal everything that I had planned. Forgive me Ace. As Kye came closer, he kissed me and I kissed him back. His mouth unrelenting against mine. All I wanted was to push him away. When he reached for the bottom of my dress, I stopped his hands.

"Wait." I whispered. 

"I'm not ready for that yet. I hope you understand." I said. He held my face affectionately.

"Of course."
