LUNA WHISPERS: CHAPTER 13

 

KYE POV

"Yes!" The maid, whatever her name was said as I thrusted into her. I thought this was what I needed but it proved ineffective because I was still thinking about her. I stopped abruptly and got down from her, I laid my back on the bed, sweat glistening on my forehead.

"That was amazing, why did you stop?" She said trying to touch me when I caught her hand mid air. 

"Go." I said in an authoritative tone. The girl had a slight frown on her face before she gathered her clothes and left. I stood up and rinsed my face with water, when I was done, I went towards the window.

I was looking at the shed that Thea went into earlier this afternoon, I saw her go in there before my little meeting with the maid. I don't even know why I'm standing here looking at that shed. She's just had this compelling hold over me since she arrived here. I was about to leave the window when I saw two men from my guards entering the shed with suspicious looks on their faces. I should probably just go back to bed and sleep, why did I care so much?.

I went down from my chambers and towards the shed. Because of our sensitive hearing, werewolves can hear things that humans can't. I stood a little further from the shed, to know what was going on. I was listening in on their conversation, but when I heard a particular statement, I knew I had to intervene.

"Maybe we should have a little fun with you. It wouldn't hurt to get a taste before we kill you."  

After hearing that, I heard Thea struggling to fight them. I transformed into a werewolf, stormed the shed and killed the men. Thea was at a corner watching in fear. I ordered her to leave after I was done. After a while I came out from the shed with blood all over my body. Most of the men looked at me, probably wondering what had happened.

"Call Eren." I ordered one of them. He ran with fear in his eyes. After a few minutes Eren showed up and came in front of me. He didn't look surprised at all the blood. He would have gotten used to it by now.

"What happened?" He said.

"Some men tried to take advantage of a woman.   Make sure to clean up the mess." I said.

"I've never seen you react this way because of a woman being harrased before. You usually leave the punishments to me. Instead you came here by yourself." He said, walking closer to me

"Is this woman in anyway, a mutual friend of ours." He said. My face gave me away Instantly.

"Kye."

"Not now Eren, whatever you're thinking, it's not what it is." I said walking away.

"And what I'm I thinking Kye?" he asked. I didn't reply him. I just continued walking away. Until I reached my chambers and retired for the night.

FREYA POV

It was now afternoon, all through the morning, I did all my chores, Kye didn't request for me this morning. After yesterday I didn't think he would. I was getting ready for the hunt. My body still hurt a bit from the fight yesterday. I was quite happy that I won't be seeing Yuri face to face. If he saw my state I'm sure he would take me back to the moon pack without hesitation. After I got the letter and folded it neatly into my dress I stepped out. 

I saw Kye and Eren outside. Exactly where I was told to meet them. I waked towards them, as I was getting closer Eren looked at me with one eyebrow raised.

"What are you doing here?" He asked. Before I could speak, Kye responded to him

"She's coming with us." He said.

"Why?" He asked looking at Kye like he had lost his senses. His composure changed when Kye glared at him.

"We had a deal and I lost." He said with finality. Kye walked away. I walked behind them, as we reached the gates the rogue guards stationed there when I came were different from the ones that were here now.

We all went deep into the forest, I scouted the area to know If the tree that Yuri told me about was here. We agreed that I would hang the blue clothe with information on a dragon fruit tree. He said the tree was the only dragon fruit tree in the forest. It shouldn't be hard to find. I just needed an excuse to leave Kye. It had to be a really convincing one or else he might suspect me and with Eren on my tail, it may be harder leaving their side. 

We arrived at a clearing in the forest. I dropped the water which I had brought for all of us and the extra clothes for Kye, that I was given to carry on the ground next to a tree. I sat down on a tree branch and watch Kye and Eren as they deliberated on something. Probably which areas had more animals that they could hunt.

"I'll go find some animals to hunt. You stay here and wait for me." Kye said to Eren.

"Can I go with you?" I asked. Kye glared at me a bit. Probably remembering yesterday's events. I was still quite shocked by it. The fact that he saved me didn't change my perception of him though. Infact the fact that he showed a little bit of care for me shows that my plan is working. He was starting to trust me. 

"I was hoping that I could talk to you about something." I said. His glare reduced a bit and he nodded for me to follow him. Eren didn't look happy about it but he knew there was nothing he could do. I took the clothes I brought for Kye along with me as I went with him.  

I and Kye were walking side by side. He didn't look at me as we strolled. Not even once. I cleared my throat and that was the only time his gaze fell on me.

"I wanted to apologize for yesterday. For any trouble I may have caused you in anyway. I'm hoping you can forgive me." I said looking down and playing with my fingers. Kye placed his finger on my chin and rose my head up.

"Look directly at people when talking to them." He said.

"Of course. Sorry." I said.

"It's alright. You're forgiven. It wasn't your fault that those men wanted to harass you. They've gotten what they deserve now. That's all that matters." He said. We arrived at a particular part of the forest when he stopped me with his hands. 

"Wait here. I can hear something." He said. Almost immediately Kye transformed and ran into the forest leaving me there. I took this as my chance to search for the tree before he came back. I looked around me and walked further down a path that Yuri told me about. 

Finally, I found the tree and I hung the blue cloth on one of its branches. I took a dragon fruit from the floor and started heading back to the place that Kye left me at. As I reached there I saw Kye with a huge wild animal on his shoulder. Blood was on his hands and he was starring at me. I resolved to ignore the fact that he wasn't wearing any clothes.

"I thought I told you to wait here, why are you so defiant." He said.

"I just went to get this." I stretched my hands and showed him the dragon fruit.

"My father and I used to get fruits when we would go on our walks. I wanted to indulge a little. I hope you understand." I said. Kye looked at me, removed his eyes and nodded.

"Come, help me clean up. There is a nearby river here somewhere." He said. The two of us went down towards the river banks. The water was glistening under the sunshine. It was truly beautiful. Now that I've delivered the message. Perhaps I could spend some time admiring the beauty of the place and also work on making Kye trust me more. I dropped the clothes on the ground. Kye was entering the water when suddenly he turned towards me and gave me a confused look.

"What are you doing there? You're supposed to be helping me clean my body." He said. I was about to enter the river. He stopped me once more.

"Take off your clothes." He said. I looked at him, eyes wide open, I was completely shocked at what he said.

"Did you bring extra clothes with you?" He said. I didn't know we would be doing this. If I did maybe I would have brought some.

"It's not like you're completely naked under your clothes. You're wearing undergarments aren't you?" He stated.

"Yes…but." Before I could speak he rose a finger to silence me. 

"I won't look at you." He said.

"Now, come help me wash up. We need to leave here early. I have things I need to take care of." He said. It took a lot of courage to do as he said. I took off my clothes. Leaving me wearing just a light, flimsy gown. I entered the river and slowly approached him. He didn't look at me, just like he promised. I swam closer to him. He looked down on me, like I was a small fish beneath him. 

"Wash me." He said. I took some water into my hands and used it to clean his body. I used this as an opportunity to ask some questions. To get to know him better all in disguise to earn his trust of course.

"Can I ask a question." I said. He simply nodded his head. His eyes were closed. Like he was in a dream.

"How did you start leading the rogues?" I asked. He stared at me sighing before responding.

"Like every other man. I fought for my place." He said

"I fought the previous leader and I took his position." He said. His mind drifted like he was remembering something. 

"I don't want to talk more on it. So don't ask any more questions. Just wash me, silently." He said and I nodded. I continued to wash his body for the rest of the time. Making sure not to say anything. When we were done. We both stepped out of the river and went back to find Eren in the clearing.

Kye took the wild animal and hung it on his back as we were walking. We entered the gates and I went back to my room without looking back at the two of them. I sat on the chair next to my window and sighed. I looked at the sky remembering Ace. I wonder how he was doing?. Somehow I could feel his presence surrounding me due to the connection that we both share. I hope the message reaches them on time. I went back to my bed and laid my head down. The days activities now taking a toll on me.

ACE POV

It was now evening. I was outside waiting for Yuri to come back with information about Freya's safety. I needed to know that she was fine. I was walking around restlessly. Darren tapped my shoulder to calm me down. 

"It will be fine Ace. He'll he here soon." He said.

"I can't help being worried. I need to know how Freya is doing. If she's safe or not." I sighed.

"Is Getrude still asking after her?" I asked.

"Not really. She still believes that she's at another pack house for an important gathering. She doesn't suspect anything for now. She still thinks that Freya won't come back until seven days. If those days elapse, we have to find another excuse." He said. I nodded my head. As I looked up, I saw Yuri walking towards us with a blue cloth in his hands. I breathed a sigh of relief. I ran toward him now inpatient to hear what he had to say.

"Yuri, Is she fine? What did the letter say?" I asked impatiently.

"She wrote that she is well. We have to assemble our men to the moutains. Kye's men are on their way to get wolfsbane. We have to stop them for they may be on their way as we speak." He said.

"Okay, assemble the men. I'll also come with you as well." I said. Yuri nodded his head and assembled some of the men. We took our leave that evening towards the moutains. We went carefully in order not to attract any of Kye's men. This was a good opportunity to strike down their men and reduce their numbers. We could not risk it. 

We went towards the moutain top and caught Kye's men unawares. We attacked them, some of them manged to flee but majority of the men were killed by us. After that we returned to the pack with most of their weaponry. At least we managed to stop them from doing this. Freya has strengthened the pack with her actions today. I only hoped for her safety each day that passed. I miss holding her and being with her, but I have to respect her decision to protect this pack. I know I'll see her again.

FREYA POV

A loud crash from outside caused me to wake up abruptly. I heard Kye screaming about something. I hope it was what I thought it was. I looked outside my window to see Eren and Kye standing over a kneeling man. The man looked scared and afraid. After a while Kye started screaming loudly that everyone around could definitely hear him.

"How could this happen?" He shouted.

"How did they know about it?" He walked around with an angry look on his face.

"The only people that knew about this was you and I. Who else could have possibly found out." Kye said.

"I do not know, but it may seem as if we have a traitor amongst us." Eren said. He looked towards my window and I quickly ducked before he could see me.

"I think I have an idea who it is. Think about it Kye, ever since that girl stepped In here. It has been one problem or the other. I told you it wasn't right to trust her." Eren said.

"You're not sure it's her yet. Let's not jump into conclusions" Kye said. Eren laughed, a condescending tone in his voice as he spoke his next words.

"Do you like her?" He asked.

"Is that why you've been so nice to her, is that why you're ruling out the possibility that she could be the traitor. Come on Kye, she's been here for only three days and you already trust her so much. Don't act like a fool." Eren said

"Enough!" Kye screamed directly at him.

"I will overlook what you said because you're my most trusted friend Eren. Do not speak to me in that manner again because if you do, you will not like my response to it. Do you understand." Kye said. Eren still looked angry but he responded solemnly.

"Yes." Eren said.

"Bring the girl to the palour downstairs. We're going to interrogate her there." Kye said. Eren smiled at that and walked away. I quickly laid down on my bed. I resolved not to be afraid of anything. I've fooled them once and I can do it again. My door opened with a loud bang and Eren stalked towards me with a smirk on his face. He dragged me roughly from the bed.

"You're coming with me. We're going to show you how traitors are treated here." He spat.

"I didn't betray anyone." I said with an angry voice. Eren dragged me downstairs to the palour. Kye was already there. He had an angry look on his face. Eren tossed me at his feet. I winced a little because of the pain from yesterday. Kye held my chin roughly, eyes looking angry.

"I will only ask you once. And you better tell me the truth girl. Who are you really? Don't lie to me, Thea."
