LUNA WHISPERS: CHAPTER 12

 

ACE POV

I'm worried about her.

I woke up this morning with recurring dreams of her in danger. I couldn't wait for tomorrow to come so I could hear that she was safe. I trusted her to be safe. I just had to. When she came to me with this plan. I admit I was both scared for her and proud of her at the same time. Freya's bravery astonished me. She had come a long way from who she was before. It's natural for me to worry this much, she's my wife and I love her more than anything but she asked me to trust her and so I would.

I heard the door open and I saw Darren. I signaled that he could enter. 

"Have you heard from Yuri?" I asked

"He returned yesterday night. She has arrived at her destination." Darren said. I breathed a sigh of relief. At least this would make me worry less.

"Don't worry Ace, your Luna is a strong one. She'll be fine." He said putting a comforting hand on my shoulder. I hope so, I really hope so. Or else I would die because I cannot imagine living in a world without her.

FREYA POV

When I opened my eyes. I saw a bright light coming from the window. I sat up to stretch my arms. The woman from yesterday came into my room. I never got her name.

"Good morning dear. Trust you slept well." She said. She went to my bedside table and kept a couple of clothes for me.

"I brought you more clothes, your hair is so unruly dear. Go take a shower and I'll fix it up for you." She said.

"I never got your name." I stated. She smiled a bit.

"My name is Neveah." She said.

"We better hurry to get you ready, Kye has requested for you for quite a while now. At least he had the heart to let you rest a little." She said.

"Even though I doubt he has any heart in there" she muttered, but I didn't respond to that.

As promised Neveah fixed my hair for me. I wore the clothes she gave me and left the room, ready for my first duty. I was about to knock on the door when I overheard Eren and Kye, I opened the door a little so I could see them.

"I don't know Kye, but I do not trust that girl." Eren said.

"Why not? does she look like a threat. She looks more thirsty for revenge against my brother, we could use that." Kye said

"What if she's just lying. What If she was sent to spy on us." Eren stated.

"I admit I've never seen a girl fight like that. But I'm inclined to believe her. I haven't heard her whole story. But she reminds me of myself. Her thirst to avenge herself and her father, just like mine to avenge myself and my honour." Kye said 

"At least Kye, get the full story out of her. Be careful." Eren stated. Kye looked conflicted after what Eren told him. I have to be careful around Eren. I can't risk him ruining everything.

"Have you gotten the wolfsbane?" Kye asked.

"Our men will be going tomorrow evening to get them. They're focusing more on making headway with weaponry and training." Eren said. I have to tell Yuri about this tomorrow, this was valuable. They could stop them if they reached there on time. Eren headed for the door and I ran towards a wall and hid there. He passed without seeing me. I went back to Kye's room and I opened the door. 

"I heard you've requested for me for a while now. I'm sorry I couldn't arrive earlier." I said. Kye looked at me from head to toe. A glint in his eyes. One that I did not like, because I didn't know what it meant. 

"Come closer." He said. I stepped closer to him and he held my arm. My heart was beating widely In my chest.

"Go and fix a bathe for me." he whispered.

"Of course." I said. I went to his bathroom and I fixed up a bathe. But I felt uncomfortable with him staring at me the whole time. Then I heard him talk.

"So tell me, what type of wolf are you?" He asked

"An Omega." I said

"An Omega? Then how is your father a warrior?" He asked. A suspicious tone in his voice.

"Things changed when you were exciled. Omega's were given a chance to become part of the pack warriors. My father paved a way for all of them." I said. Standing up and looking at him.

"Undress me." He commanded. I squeezed my hands into a fist. I had to do it. I couldn't look suspicious. No matter how much I hated to do this. I had to. I went close to him, unbuttoning his shirt. He never took his eyes off me for once.

"How did your father die?" My hand paused on his shirt and I bent my head down and sighed.

"My father was among those sent to defend the sun pack. He was down in health and he wasn't strong enough to fight. I begged your brother to let him stay. But he said it was his duty to the pack and he had no choice but to let him go." I said.

"My brother did that?" He asked in disbelief. 

"Power can change people." I said a little sob in my throat. 

"My father left that day, a few days later. I heard he was dead. The only thing I got was an apology. An apology won't bring him back, nothing would." I said now crying.

"How I'm I sure you don't want to kill me as well?" He asked.

"You're not the one who led my father to his death. You knew not of his health. In war if you're attacked, you kill. I do not blame you. You were only doing what you thought was right to reclaim your place." I said 

"But your brother knew. Yet he still let him go and he made me an orphan. I had no one else but him." I said now full on sobbing. I hope he believed me. I prayed that he did. I felt a hand touch my shoulder not long after.

"We"ll get revenge for your father. I promise you this." He said. And he did something that I didn't expect him to do. He hugged me. 

I wanted to pull myself away from him. But I remembered what I was doing this for and I hugged him back. He was starting to trust me, this was good. I willed myself not to smile at this little achievement. Kye pulled himself away from me after a while. I finished undressing him and left the room to give him privacy. After he was done, I laid his clothes on his bed and helped him get into them. I followed him out of the room. And after that, I went my way. I was heading back to the maid quarters when Eren stepped In my way. 

"Is there anything I can help you with?" I asked him

"I don't trust you." He said.

"I don't care if you do or not." I stated blankly, but his eyes only glared at mine. 

"If I cannot help you with anything, please step out of my way." I say. He moved back to allow me pass but he made a statement before leaving.

"I'll find out what you're up to and when I do you'll regret ever coming here." He said.

"Your have a lot of insecurities. I'm not here to do anything. Why don't you focus on matters that need more of your attention and stop focusing on a simple girl like me." I said.

"There's nothing simple about you, Thea." He said before walking away. I sighed and continued heading towards my destination.

One of my main reasons for going to the maid quarters was to ask Neveah If the rogues ever allowed anyone out of the gates. I needed to find a way to pass my message to Yuri. I couldn't just waltz out the gates for no reason at all. I saw Neveah washing some dishes and I walked towards her and tapped her on the shoulder.

"Do you need any help with that?" I asked

"Not at all dear." She said smiling. I sat down near her, prepared to ask my question.

"Neveah, can I ask you a question?" I asked

"Of course dear, what is it?" She replied.

"Do we ever get to leave the rogue territory?" She looked at me, probably thinking about why I would ask that.

"It's just that, sometimes I like going for walks in the woods. Do they allow that here?" I asked.

"No, it doesn't happen. Only Kye and Eren are allowed to leave as they please. Kye sometimes likes to hunt for fun. He usually goes around the afternoons." She said 

"Oh. Thank you Neveah" I said and I left the quarters. I just needed to convince Kye to take me with him tomorrow. On my way, I passed the training ground. I was heading to Kye's room when I saw him there. He was training with one of the guards. Beating him without any mercy. As I got closer. I heard him say beneath his breath

"Weak". He turned around for a split second and then he saw me. 

"I didn't ask for you." He said 

"I know. I'm here to make a request." I said. 

"What is it?" He asked 

"I want to go with you tomorrow, for your hunt." I said. He turned to me fully, raising one of his eyebrows.

"I don't need you. So there's no use of you coming" he said with finality.

"I know. Its just. I used to go on walks with my father. Since he died, I've been going on my own. It makes me feel like he's still here with me in a sense" I said. He looked at me, walking closer.

"You can go for your walks in here." He said. He began to walk away from me. No, this can't be. I needed him to agree.

"Wait, please" I said and he stopped.

"What if we fight. If I win you'll let me come with you and if you win, I'll stay." I said. Kye laughed at me.

"I doubt that you've healed properly from yesterday. And you want to fight me." He said mockingly.

"I assure you, I'm perfectly fine." I said angry at his tone.

Kye smirked and charged towards me. Before I knew it he had me pinned to the ground with a knife on my throat.

"If I had the intention of killing you, you would have been dead by now." He said.

"This was dirty of you, this fight wasn't honourable" I said struggling against him.

"Sometimes in fights you have to be a little dirty" he said. I looked at him in a sultry manner, tracing my free fingers on his legs. He was distracted for a moment. I took the opportunity to flip us over. I was now straddling him. I pinned his hands to the ground and the knife fell out of it.

"How's that for dirty." I said. Our faces were now inches apart. Kye's eyes fell directly on my lips. He had an expression on his face, a weird one. As if he came out of a trance he pushed me away from his body. He sighed and talked quite hastily before leaving. He sounded like he wanted to get away from me as soon as possible.

"Don't be late tomorrow afternoon, I hate tardiness." After that, he left. At least I've gotten what I wanted from him. Now I needed to go craft my message.

KYE POV

What is wrong with me?

What was that girl doing to me?

I've never met anyone so mysterious and intriguing at the same time. So unafraid and brave. She was something else alright.

I've never enjoyed a fight so much in my entire life. I have to stop thinking of the girl. I can't afford any distractions. Especially from a woman. My mind drifted to what Eren said this morning. What if he was right? What if she was sent here?

But she seemed sincere. Either she's telling the truth or she's a really good liar.  Look at me thinking of a woman when I should be focusing. Maybe I just needed to lay with someone. Maybe then all these foolish thoughts of the girl would leave my head. I sent for a maid and laid on my bed, my thoughts still drifting to Thea.

FREYA POV

After crafting my message in a secluded shed. I tucked it inside my dress carefully. I was about to leave when two rogue guards stepped into the shed. I wanted to walk away but one of them blocked me.

"Now where do you think you're going?" One of them said.

"I'm leaving, what else does it look like?" I asked them. Making sure to look at them like they were both stupid.

"You're not leaving until you pay for what you did?" One of the men said. I was starting to get confused with these people.

"What are you talking about?" I asked. They both glared at me with so much contempt.

"You killed Gail, you little whore." They said 

"You disgraced his honour." They said and I knew that they were definitely foolish.

"So he should have killed me instead?" I asked.

"What use are you here. Gail was one of our best and you ended his life. It would have been better if you had died instead." They said.

"If he was one of your best. You must have been doing something wrong then." I said

"If the two of you could hear yourselves, you would know how stupid you sound. Now Please step out of my way." I said. 

"You think we're joking don't you?" One of the men said. Suddenly one of them pushed me and they started creeping towards me slowly.

"Maybe we should have a little fun with you. It wouldn't hurt to get a taste before we kill you." The one who pushed me said before they both smiled disgustingly.

"In your dreams." I said. As I was standing up. I took sand from the ground and use it to block they're eyes. I slipped between them to run away, when one of them grabbed my hair. I screamed in pain. The other advanced towards me and I hit him in the groin also hitting the man holding me on the foot. He let go of me out of pain. 

The man who I hit in the groin, dragged me down to the floor. I fell with a wince. The pain from yesterday's fight still affecting me. He hit me in the belly and I became weaker. I heard them laughing as they looked at me.

"Not so fiesty now, are we?" One of them said.

"Take off her clothes." He ordered. As they were about to do so. There was a loud bang on the door. It was a werewolf. A fully transformed werewolf. It had a large gash on it's face. The werewolf leaped and roared as it attacked the two men. Hitting them on the wall like they were nothing. He slashed at them continously, blood was spilling everywhere. I crawled back and watched the scene before me. Not taking my eyes off for one second. When he was done. The wolf shifted back to his human form. Completely naked before me. It was Kye. He turned to look at me. His fangs were still visible.

"Ever since you came here, it's been nothing but trouble." He said.

"Go, now!" He screamed. I ran away from there. My heart was still pounding from the scene I saw before me. I stopped at the door of my room to calm down and breathe. I slid down to the floor. Checking my waist band to make sure the letter was still there. Thankfully it was.

I entered into the room and shut the door. The scene still playing in my brain. I had a bath and came back to bed. I was still shocked from the days event. Still thinking about what happened, It reminded me of that night, it still traumatised me. Still thinking of the events that took place, I drifted off to sleep. Exhausted.
