BROWN & GREY: CHAPTER 4

BELLION POV

As we rode the Uber, Lotanna told me all about his University days and his friend Lanre. It took me a while to finally pronounce his name right though. I also told him some few details about myself, I haven't mentioned Kai. I didn't want this moment to end, this little time of happiness I had. 

I have never laughed this much in a long time but Lota seems to make me do so effortlessly. He let me be myself around him, the only person I've only talked to this much was Kayla. The Uber took us home. As we got down Lota gawked at the house like a deer caught in headlights.

"Come on, let's introduce you to my father." I said laughing at the expression on his face.

"I know on our way here you told me your father was rich but I didn't think it was this much. Talking to you one wouldn't guess that you're this wealthy, you are so modest Asa." He said.

Even though he still hasn't told me the meaning of the name, I was determined to find it out. I made it a task that I was going to accomplish. We entered the foyer and to my surprise dad looked quite upset.

"What I'm I hearing from Kai?" He said. "Why is he telling me that you didn't show up for the date". I looked quite surprised because that was not the truth.

"Dad, I waited two hours for him and he didn't show up, he didn't even call me. So I just left, it was disrespectful of him to show up late like that and not even give me a phone call." 

"As a good wife to be, you sit and wait." He said glaring daggers at me and making me feel small.

"You are the woman, show some respect. I don't care if you had to wait till tomorrow, what matters is that Kai left there happy and right now, he certainly isn't. Don't ruin this for us Bellion. Do not!" He yelled. "Do you understand?".

"Yes father." I said, fresh tears rolling down my cheeks, the days happiness slowly fading away. Next thing a voice spoke behind me. I almost forgot Lota was here, well this was embarrassing.

"Excuse me sir, but I don't think she did anything wrong. What type of man would leave a woman stranded like that for two hours, it's not right na." He said.

"And who might you be?" Dad spoke looking unhappy about the interference.

"Father this is Lota, he's my new personal driver. He saved me from bugglers so I offered him a job in return. I feel he deserves it. If not for him something bad might have happend to me." I narrated.

"All that would have been avoided if you just sat your ass in the restaurant, I want you to call Kai and apologize, do you understand?". 

"Yes father" I said dejectedly.

"But Asa, you didn't do anything wrong." Lota said. I turned and glared at him, signalling that he shouldn't talk. 

"And keep your little driver on a leash. If he's going to stay here, he should learn when to shut up and when to speak". 

"Of course, sorry father." I said and then dad left the room. Lota looked at me shocked.

"Why do you let your father speak to you that way, that wasn't right now." He said.

"I'll show you to your room Lota." I said not giving a comment to his earlier statement. He watched me as I showed him to his room. I said goodnight without spearing him a glance but I could still feel his eyes on my back.

LOTANNA POV.

It was morning and I was taking a stroll in the environment. I kept thinking about Asa and what happend last night. What type of father treats her daughter like that? Asa was clearly not happy but why did she take all that from him.

I swear if it was me, I won't even take that from my own parents. I Managed to charge my phone and called Lanre early in the morning, I told him everything and of course he said "I told you so, you no dey hear word". 

He was happy when I told him about Asa though. He said I was lucky to have found her and that was very true. Bellion intrigued me, I wanted to find out more about her, especially after last night. As I was pacing about someone entered the house, as he stepped out of the car anyone could see that he had wealth dripping off him.

"Hello sir, can I help you?" I said stepping closer to him. He looked me from bottom to top and sighed as he looked at his watch.

"Is Bellion at home?" He asked.

"Yes, she is, but I have to know who is looking for her, I can't just let strangers into this house." I said clearly disliking the guy already, he gave the kind of vibes that Bellions father gave. He chuckled lowly and walked up to me, his expensive perfume blocking my breathing.

"You probably don't know cause you're new here. I'm Kai, Bellions Fiance." he spat.

So this was the guy that stood Asa up but the part of his sentence I was more concerned about was the fact that he was her fiance. 

How could Asa stoop so low to be with someone like this?

For what reason?.

Before I could talk more, a soft voice came from behind me.

"What is going on here?.
